I know we want rid, but Birching him is a bit OTTGet him out on loan for a season then flog him.

So where is the queue for his signatureMessi rates him as 'phenomenally good' and Buffon rates him as one of the top three on the planet. Btw - Buffon is, in my view, the world's best - doesn't concede the occasional soft goal that Neuer does.

You obviously dont do "reading between the lines" Gen question, why do you believe Pep said if Joe wants to stay and learn to improve, that's good with him?Joe is not being given the chance to adapt. Mixed messages "Stay and improve, but I'm signing a guy four years older than you for twenty times the fee you were signed for."
Thanks for that balanced view in this weird debate.
I can understand many on here have their blue tinted specs on. It's good to have a huge identification with the club's heroes like Joe. But then again it's really exhaustive when some experts on here are just picking out some parts of the picture while ignoring those they simply don't like so much.
We really would have lost if we end up like this: ;-)

The Prem is different from anything Pep will have known. The likes of Welbeck and Vardy are onto GKs with the ball at their feet in no time. Other players will soon latch onto GKs who think they're sweepers. If it goes wrong, will Bravo lose confidence ?i think some people need to have a change in mentality regarding the goalkeeping at city under Pep.
pep doesn't want a goalkeeper just playing in nets, his priority is having a FOOTBALLER in the goal, with an ability to play football with the ball at their feet, to become the extra man (e.g. sweeper keeper).
the set mentality for most is that a goalkeeper is doing hi job if he saves shots and keeps a clean sheet and clears his lines, everything else is secondary. but this is not how pep prioritizes the attributes of his keepers.
the whole ethos of his approach to the game relies on a keeper that doubles up as an outfield player, thus allowing his teams to play as if they have the extra man in midfield.
joe cant do this, but it doesn't mean he's shit, it just means that the attribute pep wants is not there, and if its not there then joe won't play in this team.
its exactly the same as with an outfield player, if they cant bring the skill set that the manager wants in that position then they are sold on, and with the best wishes of city.
joe will go as well, and hopefully be successful elsewhere, at a club that value his skill set.
Pep seems to be dealing with things ok at the moment. The Prem is different from anything Pep will have known. The likes of Welbeck and Vardy are onto GKs with the ball at their feet in no time. We all know that pep planned to get rid of Hart the day he became our manager. It's very misleading that. If a keeper puts in a great performance, the opposition are usually full of praise for the keeper, and thus 'Messi rates him as phenomenal' isn't really true, it's more a case of Messi thought he was phenomenal for one match.
And of course, you ask a keeper about another keeper, and they all say 'he's a top keeper' etc.
Of course, I am sure he is highly regarded - I'm just wary of reading too much into compliments. Many will say Yaya is a phenomenal player too, as they would about Rooney or Schweinsteiger, but it doesn't mean they are fit for City anymore.
Messi has faced Hart several times. Yaya, Rooney and Schweinsteiger are past their prime. At 29 a GK's best years are still to come. It's very misleading that.
