When do you think they had the conversation that finally made it clear he could go? Because we've left the lad with 1 week to find a new club and the fact is most clubs don't leave it to the last minute to fill such an important role as keeper, so its not surprising there isn't much interest. A loan looks most likely now and without debating the rights and wrongs of not wanting him, really did Pep not know at least a month ago that Joe wasn't wanted??
Or maybe Pep wasn`t certain that he`d get the goalkeeper of his choice, hence the delay.

To be fair to Pep even if it was in his head - he had to wait until he'd worked with Joe to make a decision. The press would have a field day if Pep had said he wanted a new keeper while Joe was still on his jollies.

I think this is the reason as well mate! Barca wouldnt even let Bravo go until they had a replacement already sorted out, so we would have been taking a big risk, letting Hart move on before Bravo was officially done deal.

Yeah, once you've got your head around the fact the decision is made, fair enough, ok (Joe's pass/distribution etc... aint for Pep.
My god we've left it late though - for such a huge decision - hope Joe gets something, were not covered in glory here.

Pep should have given Joe more time or cited until Jan, cringed when the Everton managed didn't want Joe.

We have not left the lad with 1 week to find a new club. We're paying him his wages on a contract he and City agreed between themselves. He can sit on his bum all season if he wants to and take the money.
He is able to terminate that contract (with penalties) if he so wishes, which would then allow him to sign for a club at any time he wishes - as he would be out of contract.
Although Article 16 of FIFA's regulations try to prevent this, Article 17 has been used by a number of players to do precisely what I describe above.

Players (and clubs) need to stop signing contracts for deals they don't like if things turn sour.

Your argument about contracts seems somewhat silly given that a longer term contract for a player usually increases their sell on value. It was reported (possibly falsely) that the club's hierarchy were caught off guard by Guardiola's decision to drop Hart so the length of his contract reflected what they thought of him at the time.

Could be - but think it's too late for Willy to go and he is obviously Pep's 2nd choice . Also, the times article says Pep wants Hart to leave at the earliest, with Hart's camp a bit annoyed that he is praising him in public while trying to discard him.

Not to mention having Joe around and not in squad, the media circus would be stupid

Also read that it was Txiki, not Pep that has told him to leave as he believes the situation will be a distraction to everyone. If Pep is saying one thing and privately saying another, then that's a pretty shitty thing to do.

Technically you can't argue with what you've stated and certainly I don't have any worries for Joe's financial security! But he won't be picked for England if he's our 3rd choice keeper (how many games did Wright play last season) and we're not talking about any old gold-digging mercenary, this is someone who has spent 10 years with us. Would you feel so matter of fact about it if it was Vinny or Zabba?

You seem to believe a lot that you read don't you?
