It tells me that Joe is confident in his own ability, and that he realises Pep wasn't/isn't, why the need to read between the lines ? Joe accepts that he isn't going to change Pep's mind, that's mature as far as I'm concerned, and he doesn't sound bitter about it, just realistic.

This. We have moved on.. So has Joe.

He is a very good goal keeper - a champions league level keeper and am pretty sure next year he will move to a bigger club.

He will be at the arse, Spurs, Everton, Liverpool next season.

Possibly even the rags.

A great way to look at it tbh. Hopefully bang on the money and nothing sinister from either side.

These are some weird things to say coming from Joe. Don't know why he needs to say this.

They might be right; they might be bang on. Some people you struggle to argue with – they've got a lot of strong backing to what they say and what they do"
So the Board learnt their lesson from the Mancini debacle. Basically Joe said he wanted to argue but he didn't get the backing from the Board.

"I'm always looking, I'm always watching – I see new ideas, I like new ideas and I've got to work to my capabilities. Whatever I'm capable of, I need to be the best I can.”
Except for doing what my gaffer asked, I'm not having that.

“Not really. I've got quite a few people who I hold close to my heart and I trust and a lot of footballing opinions that I care about."
He doesn't care what Pep thinks.

Really just imagine any other player doing/saying this – Let's say Fernandinho left us because Pep wants to play the pressing game and Dinho doesn't want to press, and then he went out and say this to the press. What would you think?

On your first point, he doesn't say he wanted to argue, that's your interpretation.

The way I read it he's saying there's no point in arguing which is spot on.
