It was said a lot after Tuesday's performance - but that is why you get to choose your new goalkeeper.

It's a shame as I've been a JH fan & I would have preferred him having been given a chance. I suspect however PG is laying down a marker internally that his authority is to be unquestioned (also with YT & SN being sidelined) all of which will benefit the team in the longer run.

Good luck Joe wherever you end up - I for one will show you appreciation - when you return in front of the South Stand - having been a cornerstone of our domestic trophy laden years. Its been an amazing ride - however I feel we're onto something much much bigger.

Pep hasn't said that he doesn't rate him as a keeper. He said that he struggles in an aspect which is important to him as City coach.

This was reported in the Guardian football about Hart and it's the most specific explanation I have seen.

Guardiola and his coaching staff lost faith in Hart after a drill in which he was asked to switch the ball from one foot to the other and then hit a long pass. His passing was reasonable, but he struggled with the technique of moving the ball on to his stronger foot.

im struggling to see this being the only reason. even i can move a ball from one foot to the other and then kick it, and if i couldn't i'm sure with a bit of training i could pick that up in no time.

that is not reason enough to get rid of joe. looks like its a smoke screen for the real reason, which (most probably) is his perceived (bad?) influence in the dressing room.

Embarrassing having a connection with certain players in no more embarrassing than having a dripping hardon over Pep. He's not omnipotent pal, we don't all have to bow and scrape to the bloke, some are questioning the decision, it's a football form with various views of the same situation, it's natural.

God help pep, who has won more trophies than city never mind hart, and is regarded as the best manager in the world with that post. You not happy with pep, would you prefer an ex city legend in charge? I understand Sam is also replacing hart at England as well as Fraser Forster due to his errors. You cannot keep making the same mistakes and rely on your past performances. I am sorry he is out of form and does not fit in to the new system but that's life. Even if leaves he will always be a legend.

Football moves on I think some people would only be happy if we had a team made up of of hart, goater, dunne, summerbee , dickov, buster Phillips, bell....

What ever happened to him anyway.....

Platt denied he said that mate

"Surprised to hear about my quotes on Hart today. On holiday! Did Liverpool v Stoke last week and said we liked Begovic but had Joe Hart."

Yeah he wriggled afterwards but I remember seeing the clip at the time. Be interesting if someone could dig it up. IIRC it was pretty clear what he was saying to Bein.

Why would he deny it? No skin off his nose either way.

This is from Begovic himself.
"As for Manchester City, when Mancini was on the bench, we were very close to an agreement. The transfer was not realised due to several reasons, but the main one was the departure of the Italian manager."
