Joe Hart or Willy Caballero

FFS are we really having this discussion right now?

Yes Hart probably could have done a little better on the goal, but it's not like it was exactly an easy shot to save.

If you want to complain about something, complain about Kolarov's numerous fuckups today or how we had absolutely no ideas on how to break down Stoke's defence. Not Joe.

Great post mate, once again joe is the scapegoat.

Don't think anyone is scapegoating (is that a word ?) Joe. But a keeper of his ability should have done better
and I'm sure he'll be gutted more than anyone. We lost it's a natural reaction to be pissed off.
Goalkeepers make mistakes they stand out more than those of outfield players, because they usually end
up in a goal. Saying that, I agree with you, that he isn't the only one culpable for todays misery :((((

howard has conceded to costa ...in the same way as hart

on another note wasn't he out for 6 weeks ?

Conveniently forgetting the only reason we got the full 3 points against Liverpool is cos Hart kept us in it. I'm not arguing he could have done better today but to put all the blame on him when about 4 players fucked up before the ball got to him is just fucking stupid. It amazes me how quiet this thread was when he had a brilliant game against Liverpool but as soon as a mistake is made boom you're all over here quicker than a fly on shit. Give your fucking heads a wobble.

great keepers are supposed to keep teams in it when others fvck up

no one can defend mistakes like today: sadly mistakes like this are becoming an all too regular part of harts game he seems to have reached his level and that is a bit below the very best if anything his game is actually going backwards

Yep. About 4 players made fuck ups leading to the goal but once again all the blame is on Joe's shoulders. Not one of them said a word when he had a great game against Liverpool keeping us in the game in the first half but the moment a mistake is made they can't wait to log on and sling more shit at him. It really is pathetic how so called City fans are so eager to slag off one of our players.

Err it's his job to be the last line of defence and stop shots on goal, especially the pea rollers that trickle past his toe. Courtois would not have conceded that goal today. It's not acceptable for a goalkeeper of a team with aspirations like ours to allow weak shots to go past him.

(i'm a big Joe Hart fan and he's mostly been great for us but whether it's his concentration or his ability these sort of goals shouldn't happen)

Yes it wasn't the hardest shot, but how many times in this sport do we see good keepers beaten the exact same way? A low shot from essentially point-blank range that goes between the keeper's legs. Happens all the time...and although the shot didn't have a huge amount of power behind it, Diouf didn't mishit it, either. Yeah, Joe could have scooped it up but there were others on that play who were far more at fault than Joe.

Now, if Joe has a terrible run of form like he did last year where he was missing obviously easy balls, then we'll talk.

Makes it difficult to achieve our aspirations of winning the Champions league and the Premiership with only a 'good' keeper. He needs to be better than good - he needs to save the saveable shots each and every time. Especially against shite like Stoke who, given a fortuitous lead, can then defend in even greater numbers

But we can't afford to lose easy goals like this in the future. Title race is going to be tight and we have to react. IMO Caballero should get his chance against Arsenal.

Yeah, like the CS is the most important competition in the world. Bit different making mistake in glorified friendly than costing 3 points to easy opponent like Stoke at home.
