Joe Hart Speaking To MCFC

There have been rumours that Arsenal and Rags want him.

THis being the case no way he can be sold and allowed to leave. GIven has 1 season or so at the highest level and has just had a very bad injury its doubful he will be even fit for the start of the prem season. THis being the case Hart has to be retained and should start the season number one hes earned that.

His distribution is still shit though !

In that case he needs to realise Hughes is no longer the manager and RM is, so it is going to be a fresh start. If he can perform during pre-season then there is no reason he shouldn't be the no. 1.

Has it ever occured to anyone that he doesn't want to come back because he doesn't want to leave the, in his words, "family" back at Birmingham.
Seeing as Birmingham have just spent 6m on a keeper, it's unlikely that he will be family next season. As for the Hughes thing I'm not saying its right, but look at it like this, if you go to a used-car dealership and their salesman fucks you, you are unlikely to be moved by them telling you he has been fired when you need to replace the car!

If shay is first choice then I would hope that joe got all the European games..

I really can't see the rags blowing, what 10m or so on a keeper with their issues, Arsenal though........ I wouldn't be shocked at that one. As for distribution, if he is first choice after a year of Given, anything is an improvement in that area.

It's unreal to see that people can't get it into their heads that players might actually like to stay at the clubs there at because they like it, never mind potential success or money. The same is said when it comes to Messi, people can't get it into their heads that he doesn't want to come. They just can't see why though.

Hart likes the club he was at and the people at the club, regardless of what's going on at City. Just likes Given stayed at Newcastle instead of going to a better club.

And we're making him come back..it might be best for the club, but he mightn't see it that way.

I agree, but if the alternative is staying at a mid-table club, forcing him to come back could very well turn out to be the best thing for him.

He likes it at Brum now but maybe in two or three years he starts to think what could have been if he'd been at a bigger club. It's very difficult to read how ambitious he is, but I think we're on shaky ground if we assume that it's BCFC in and of itself, that he likes. Maybe it was just that they took care of him at a time when his confidence had been knocked and his feelings hurt. That doesn't make them the right club for him going forward. My opinion is that he is young, and still has to find out for himself where his priorities lie, whether it's guaranted number one status and being part of a very close knit unit, or aiming for the very top. Being turfed out may have given him a slightly warped perspective. If he's forced to come back and confront things, he might find it turned out not to be so bad after all.

I agree with your comments about Given btw, he is one of my favourite characters at the club, I think he's made of the strongest stuff, I just can't understand why his kicking is routinely so poor.

Maybe it's that he likes the club, the people at the club. It's not always about success. People seem to have forgotten that there's football clubs involved and what you find there. Would you rather go to a succesfull club every day and hate it or a club you genuinely like, who aren't that bad.

We shouldn't have forced him to leave if he didn't want to leave. He could resent us in the long run for it.

Given had a ragged groin injury there a season or two ago and it badly affected his kicking then, I don't know for me he looked like he pulled up a few times in a game every time he took a kick out. That might be part of it, doubt it though, I thought he had that fixed.
That said, it's not like a magnet and metal, the players need to fight for the ball. I always thought he'd much better distribution when he plays with Ireland. Could never get why. I mean, better by a country mile, not just a bit better.

But if you've got players not willing to fight for 50/50 ball or get into position, than well it's little lumping the ball up the pitch and hoping for the best.

I see your point, however, it is a different business with a different type of operation, Hughes was the one picking the squad week in, week out and our chairman doesn't get involved in team picking. With a new manager, it is a fresh start for all the players to show what they got.

Anyway, he'll be here next season and I'm sure he will regain that commitment once he sees and hear the support from the fans. Like some have said, it is the game time that is important for him.

Given might be better but there isn't much in it.
And when you take into account the fact that Given is an experienced international at the top of his game and Joe is a relative youngster just learning his then that says a lot.
mmmmm it doesn't in my view make him 10x better though...............

Calm down, folks! Mancini is many things, but an idiot he is not. He knows full well Hart's potential and how much the City fans love him (and let's be honet, mostl would prefer him to Given). I cannot see Bobby allowing the future England goalkeeper to leave without putting up one hell of a scrap.
