Hope he gets his move, character and all the 'off-field' stuff aside he played a huge part in some of our best days as City fans. He deserves to be remembered well if for those moments only.

If he goes there Ben a good move he can hoof to his heart content.

Sticking point for Burnley will be Harts wages can’t see them giving him 120k a week unless they give him 5 year deal on less a week

Hate the negativity, bordering on hostility, towards Joe Hart on this thread from some people.

Very short memories. Countless times he kept in games which we then went on to win. He played a huge part in all our successes.

Still a top PL goalkeeper. Hope the Burnley move comes off and he gets a chance to reboot his career.

Good luck Joe.

It’s good. He’s still a great keeper. Just not for us. Bargain in my eyes.

Considering his performances for West Ham last season £4m is much better than good.

He was a great keeper but seems to have gone off a cliff. That he's only getting a Premier League team because Burnley's keeper got injured says it all really.

I shan't take any issue with any of your personal opinions re: Joe. They're your opinions and everyone is entitled to have opinions.

The sentence I bolded though, is indeed false. He may have been been a top keeper in the league at one time but not right now. Could he regain his form? That remains to be seen.

If he were a top keeper for the Premier League he wouldn't have been displaced by Adrián @ West Ham. He also should have flourished at Torino. I think most of us would agree Serie A is an inferior league.

Was he a very good keeper for us at one time? Yes. Is he still very good. No. That being said, I hope he goes to Burnley and finds some success

He’s had a few bad seasons but he still can be a good keeper in my mind. Particularly if the defence is pretty solid.

Considering he was otherwise running his contract down,4m and 120k/week off the books is fantastic.
No disrespect to them, but How the hell can Burnley afford to pay a player £120k a week?
We must have agreed to pay off his contract in full, allowing him to renegotiate new terms with them.

All PL clubs can pay those sort of salaries now. Burnley also gets the TV money... + now the EL money. Palace are paying around that wage for Max Meyer... But you have a point, Burnley aren't known for paying large salaries regardless of the TV money, but they can afford to do it.

Also he could get a 3 year deal on less yearly wage than here but still earn more long term as he only has 1 year left here. So I don't think we have had to pay him off necessarily.

Hostility LMAO - nothing like a bit of over exaggeration eh

Getting him off the books at all is a good outcome, but getting 4m in addition is highway robbery. Thanks for the memories Joe, best of luck.

He'd be smart to take a permanent move now. If he leaves it till next summer he may get nothing or have to take less than he might get now. At least he's got a bit of bargaining power while he's still in a contract.

I assume this still shows a profit for us on the books then Colin?
