Benching him now may be best for all parties. Panti deserves a shot and Hart needs to feel that his position is under real threat. I hope we don't sell him because when he is on his game, he's one of the best keepers in the world. Hopefully he can do a Ramsey and completely turn it around but for now, benching him is what his performances warrant.
When is he "on his game though"? Dortmund and Madrid ( first half) last season? You need to do a bit more than that to be one of the best keepers in the world.

In our title-winning season, he was "on his game". He made very few mistakes and saved us countless times. Based on the form he showed that season, he was one of the best keepers in the world IMO.
Well that's arguable, I think he was reliable that season. He didn't save us countless times, that's a myth. But whatever credit he had in the bank from 18 months ago has long been used up.

He did exactly the same to Kolo Toure at home, against Wolves?

It's got to the stage where the defence won't be able to trust what is behind them.

Once that is the case, it's a long way back for any keeper.

I panic every time we concede a free kick 20-odd yards from goal.

Nasty puts enough meat on that header for it to reach Hart in his six yard box.

Hart only shouts keeper when the clown had raced out 20 yards and was right on top of Nasty.

.....But I did, Joe Hart is going to keep letting us down until he feels threatened as our undisputed number 1, I've been saying it for months and been slagged off for having that opinion, its very noticeable that more and more on here are starting to say the same thing.

I don't think for one minute we should get rid of him, I don't think its all his fault, it has to be very difficult to keep motivated when you know for sure that you are on the team sheet.

I'll say it one more time ....we need a goalie good enough to threaten his comfort, IMO we have one in Panty but MP obviously doesn't share this view, so go out and get one MP or we can kiss this league goodbye at least for this season.

If he finds it very difficult to motivate himself because he is assured his place then it is a personality flaw which will stop him from being a top draw keeper. I think that is a shit argument.

Personally, I don't like him and never have and am not jumping on a bandwagon.

He is not good enough. The powers that be have a difficult decision to make.

It is only because he is "Englands No 1 " that he is still between the sticks for us.

-- Mon Oct 28, 2013 12:01 am --

Thanks for that mate!
I watched it in the pub and really didn't know who called (if anyone).
Regardless, Joe looks at fault as Nastasic has little option but to head it!

He needs time on the bench! Would do him good and reaffirm he's not guaranteed a start!
That may be half the problem!
We've seen this before with another keeper called Joe!
Turned out to be one of our best! .....and those calling him a **** need to remember the times he's got us out of the shit and not be so bloody disrespectful to a City player!
I doubt you'd call him that to his face!
The right thing to do now is put Pants between the sticks!
There's been a noticeable dip but Joe is still young as keepers go and he'll learn and improve his decision making! I certainly wouldn't be getting rid at this point!
Yes!, he's dropped a very noticeable bollock but so did Torres an hour before he became a Chelsea hero!
Agree think he needs taking out of the firing line,in fact if possible not even on the bench (but thats not gonna happen) but maybe give him a complete rest so he can get himself right,we all want joe back to the stunning goalkeeper we know he is,and back to the keeper he was during the title season...

Spot on mate! Absolutely agree![/quote

Had fuck all to do most of the title winning season with then imperious defence in front of him.

no doubting he lost us the game today and i find it hard to believe anybody could say otherwise maybe he does need to be dropped give him a kick up the ass and i have no problems of confidence if pantilmon took his place.

Is that the right way to go about it i don't know that's for the manager to decide.

I think you're understating how good Joe was for us that season. There was a period where he was making several last-minute saves. Watch back some of his highlights and you'll see the type of saves Hart was making. He kept up in games. I'm just stating that if the " Form is temporary, Class is permanent" cliche is to be believed, it wouldn't be very smart IMO to let him go.

It was definitely another clanger by Joe. Pellers has shown remarkable faith in him up to now and he could have easily dropped him as far back as the Everton game at home, but he needs Joe to reward him for his loyalty to him. If not he needs to pick Pants, its only being fair to everyone involved.
Pellers has said we have two top players for every position.....regarding the keepers I reckon there's only one.........Pantillimon! ;-)
Let's have a change now starting on Wednesday in the cup, a perfect first game back for Pants to settle into the side for a few games and let Joe get back to some basics, and reflect on what's happening to his career. We need a goalie that's consistently good, not brilliant one game then calamitous the next.

We certainly don't need another keeper, however, its time Pants was given an opportunity as the boss has shown more than enough loyalty to Hart and unfortunately he hasn't proved he deserves to be our undisputed number one.

His gaffs are becoming far too costly,he needs time out of the limelight.

Not sticking up for Hart - it was his mistake

But does anyone wonder if the new goalkeeping coach could be partly to blame??

On the Inside City videos, when Mancini was in charge, all 3 keepers seemed to have a great rapport with the goalkeeping coach.

Now under Pellers regime, new goalkeeping coach who could be advising (badly) Joe of new starting positions on the field etc. because I cannot remember Joe rushing out other seasons, like he has done this one.

Joe's made mistakes this season but he does that run out for long balls most games, so nasty should have been expecing it, and ge never loiks where joeis. look at him, never checks harts position and anyway in that area a good defender heads that ball for a throwing for me nasty at fault same as first gial

-- Mon Oct 28, 2013 12:28 am --

Joe's made mistakes this season but he does that run out for long balls most games, so nasty should have been expecing it, and ge never loiks where joeis. look at him, never checks harts position and anyway in that area a good defender heads that ball for a throwing for me nasty at fault same as first gial
