Riiigghht. So just keep playing him no matter how many points he costs us because we wouldn't want to hurt the poor little lambs feelings.

He needs dropping and a huge kick up the arse because at the moment he is dragging the club down. If he has anything about him at all he'll come back stronger and much more focused.

A million times this

Citytilicry.... You are a moron, you think someone stood between goalposts earning 50/60k a week is under more pressure than the vast majority of Blues on here who are trying to support their team and provide for their family on a pittance.. Wake up you stupid twat...!!

and you're out of order.

Posted this in the Goalkeepers thread by accident :/

"Theres nothing wrong with Joe... he needs some confidence but i think hes trying sooo hard not to make a mistake, hes making them... i know it sounds daft but hes being extra cautious about thinks he usually wouldnt think about and should come naturally to a world class goal keeper... hes trying to be too safe (if thats even a thing) he just needs to calm down, trust his defence and not think too much about things and let his insticts take over instead of his nerves"

just think he needs to get his head on straight

Think a lot of people are letting sentimentality get the better of them tbh, including the city establishment.

Hart was poor through most of last season, and this year was a big year for him. He had to get back to his best. Instead he got almost twice as bad. I don't know. Statistically nobody in the premier league has made more errors that led to goals than Joe hart in the last 18 months. City isn't one player, and I know most fans cut hart a ridiculous amount of slack in a way they don't Dzeko or Kolarov or Nasri when they were in bad form. Wanting to give Joe infinite patience, I don't know, because he's english? Because he was great in 11/12? , even if costs us 15 points over the season ( already cost us 6) just doesn't make sense to me. Its not what champions do.

I would imagine there's a decent crossover between the people that defend Joe and the people who pine for Mancini every time we lose or draw a game. The ironic thing is I don't think there's a game we've lost this season where Joe isn't the reason, Cardiff, Villa, Bayern (got outclassed, but different game if Joe does his job and doesn't let the goal in right at the start) and now Chelsea. Yet Pellegrini has so far done what these fans want, even as it has a direct effect on our results and possibly his job security, which is to give Joe time to play through it. He started Joe against Everton in the face of media criticism and Joe has rewarded him by costing us the game in a vital 6 pointer against the team that very much looks like it could win the title this season.

I stuck by Joe last season through poor form, because I thought he was world class, I thought that he would play through it. But he's got worse this year, and the mistakes seem to be getting more idiotic, more costly.

I think it would be negligent of City not to go for Casillas, Valdes or at least Caballero this January. If we don't we won't get near the title, and tbh, with Joe in Goal even being vaguely in touch in January isn't a sure thing. You can't afford sentimentality in such a key position. I'm tired of him throwing the game away for us, again and again and again. Liverpool iced Pepe Reina, once the best goalkeeper in the PL, because his form dropped and they're the better for it. If Begovic was in goal for us instead of Hart this season, we'd be top of the league.

Was looking for something else and came across this.

England goalkeeper fucks it up with his defender allowing the striker to score.

The resemblance is uncanny!

Anyone seen/heard big Joe Corrigan's comments? Saying he thinks Hart's dip is temporary and that he could be suffering because of a change in goalkeeping coach. I think he needs to just do the basics, he has always been stuttery on when to come for the ball and when not to. The whole defence needs Joe to be the solid rock he can be. To come and command the box but also just be vocal. Tell Nastasic to head it back to him, and stay in goal. Needs to put on the old Casillas dvds of the past and get on the training pitch. Would drop him for a couple of games.

This is exactly what I'd said on another thread.

One thing we haven't had is consistency in that department. My son's a 'keeper and we usually get to the ground early. We see what goes on in the warm up and even that changes massively with each new coach, never mind the actually training regime.

In the same way that a coach can improve a player (look how De Gay's come on since Eric moved to the scum), then surely they can harm development too.

Yes he is cocky and arrogant..
Yes his form is messed up...
Yes he needs to rid the pine ..
But at the same time he needs our support

Good post. Although Joe hasn't been solely responsible, a good keeper would have prevented Cardiff and Villa's second and third and Chelsea's winner and we would have been top during a period of transition. Coming on the back of Joe's performances last season then dropping him is clearly the right thing to do. But for those who still don't agree think about it from another point of view. If MP sticks with Joe and the errors continue then MP's job is on the line.If he selects Pants and Pants screws up nobody could blame Pellers as it's not his fault both keepers have let him down and he could not have been aware there was such a major goalkeeping problem when he was appointed.
