Pellegrini joins Bluemoon witch hunt against Joe Hart shocker.
Ian Cheeseman got it spot on - Nasty ignored Joe's call but still had the opportunity to have cleared it. 100% his error.BillyShears said:davealvers said:George Hannah said:None of those was completely down to Joe - he maybe could have done better but the main fault lay with Nasty at Chelsea, Nasty at Villa and Zabba at Cardiff. I'm not saying Joe hasn't made other big mistakes this season which cost goals, such as against Bayern and against Scotland (and he's made plenty of others that haven't) but in terms of the league those 3 don't qualify IMO.
I'm sorry but this really is the definition of burying your head in the sand. I am as big a fan of Joe as anyone but to try to dismiss these as not his fault is simply not accepting the problem. How are you ever supposed to fix something if you don't acknowledge that it is broken in the first place?
Yeah I agree ... it takes a special kind of love for Joe to say that Chelsea's winner was anything but his own fault!

TBH, even if he did call for it, what the fuck was he going to do when he's come charging OUT OF HIS AREA and no where near the flight of the ball?BOMBER7967 said:George Hannah said:Ian Cheeseman got it spot on - Nasty ignored Joe's call but still had the opportunity to have cleared it. 100% his error.BillyShears said:Yeah I agree ... it takes a special kind of love for Joe to say that Chelsea's winner was anything but his own fault!
Then Cheesman got it wrong! Hart was very, very close to Nasty when he called for it, there was no way he could have ducked out of heading it back...100% Joe harts error as there was absolutely no fucking need for him to be out at the edge of his area!
Nasty was already in the process of heading it when Joe shouted. Ian cheeseman is as wrong as yourself on this so he hasn't got it spot on at all. The goal came from Harts initial hesitation when the ball was in the air. He was looking at it straight on, he had chance to see Torres chasing down, he had plenty of time to see Nasty was comfortably ahead of him and was going to be first to the ball.George Hannah said:Ian Cheeseman got it spot on - Nasty ignored Joe's call but still had the opportunity to have cleared it. 100% his error.BillyShears said:davealvers said:I'm sorry but this really is the definition of burying your head in the sand. Fair point except for the blinder bit, how do you play a blinder when you've fuck all to do?

My apologies, humour is lost on me on Mondays.
Absolutely, there was no fuckin danger until he rushed of his line, especially as he's normally rooted to it !squirtyflower said:TBH, even if he did call for it, what the fuck was he going to do when he's come charging OUT OF HIS AREA and no where near the flight of the ball?BOMBER7967 said:George Hannah said:Ian Cheeseman got it spot on - Nasty ignored Joe's call but still had the opportunity to have cleared it. 100% his error.

Tough on Pants if he has done well but you have to think/hope he will discover his 2009-2012 form, and I think the majority here would take the in form Joe Hart over most other keepers. If after bringing him back in the issues continue, I think it is no longer a Pants/Hart question but who we go and buy. We are going to buy in Jan or the summer and Joe's form between now and then will dictate whether we buy a good keeper or top tier keeper.

CP is a bit of an unknown quantity: what if he plays really well the next few games? Really well, and Hart doesn't improve. Why not just reverse the NOs 1 and 2?
newenglandblue said:Fair question and would make sense but from what I have seen he does not look the level I think we need, and would guess from the lack playing time Mancini and Pellegrini have given him they may think the same.

The problem is for the position of goalkeeper you need consistency. you can't drop your keeper after one or two mistakes. Last season hart made one mistake then usually made it up by playing a blinder in the next.
This season he has already made too many so the management have decided to change things. I personally feel Pants has come on leaps and bounds since he first joined us and the FA cup game v Chelsea demonstrated this.
Pants will come on leaps and bounds again now he is hopefully getting regular first team action and unless there is good reason, he should stay in the side. Again, if he makes one mistake he should stay in. One in the game after then it's a tough call.
The only downside to all of this is that if Hart is dropped on Saturday Pants will be off in Jan or the summer as teams such as a few mid table clubs will be sniffing round especially if Begovic or Guzan go to Arsenal as reported in some of the papers.
If Hart decides to throw his dummy out of the pram then there are more than capable keepers out there to replace him such as Iker Cassilas and Victor Valdes who could do a job.

I really hoped Hart had got over his poor form with his run in the WC Qualifiers and subsequent perfromances for us, but the Chelsea error (you can blame Nastasic as well but Joe was culpable to a degree) came too soon after Cardiff and Villa and Bayern to be ignored. Dropping him Saturday was the right thing for all concerned. When/if you bring him back is now the big question.

Why would you drop him if he's playing well? He may turn out to be a really great keeper, as Joe did over Given.
Let things take their course. Play pants until he f**ks up. Then Joe has his chance to come back as the hero.
