Joe Hart's Season

5 unforced errors leading to goals, only al-habsi has a worse record (7)

This isn't another anti thread (I fucking love Joe) but is it time to get in someone experienced to either (i) bring him on, or, (ii) give him some competition.

I'm thinking of someone like Julio Cesar really.
R you on drugs?
SERIOUSLY! Dortmund at home end ov.

No-one has answered what I asked tho - is it time to bring in a senior experiences keeper to either bring him on or challenge him for his place?

For me, yes. Competition is good
It is a fair question but it can also have the reverse effect and knock his confidence. That said a keeper of decent quality is hardly likely to want to bench warm they will want to be number 1.

Any player thats affected that way by competition needs to be shown the door. Football is a competitive sport. a player can't handle competition then they don't belong on a competitive team.

That being said I don't think Joe's performances has anything to do with not having an experienced keeper behind him. Are you saying that he's not bothered by the mistakes? Since his job isn't up for grabs he's willing to let in some howlers but if he could lose his job he'd have played beter? I don't see this at all. Joe is a competitive guy. He wants to be the best in the world. He wants to win. I'm 100% sure he's dissapointed with his performances this season. He's not one of those players that just show up for a paycheck.

I am a little concerned about his back problems though. He started the season with a back injury that was termed chronic. Injured it again against West Ham. Perhaps this has had an effect of his performances? Maybe his back problems are the cause of his loss of concentration at times?

August of last year?

Yeah, he's been injured all season....

Couldn't be that his performance level has just slipped, no couldn't be.

you dont just push thes things back into place and move on. The club have been managing this injury for some time. Yes he has made mistakes but when you blow as hot and cold as he has this season there is generally an underlying issue.

Look at the cup games, in the past Pants has played the early rounds with Hart coming in for the later, see Liverpool semi in Carling Cup last season. Hart was furious last season he didnt play in the United 3-2 in the FA Cup and again that he didnt play in the 1/4 of the league cup at Arsenal.

This season, due to the injury he is happy (less upset) that Pants is playing. The club are having to manage the injury as they have done all season. He basically needs a big rest. When you do something like this at the start of a season it stays with you

Will be interesting because he hasn't pulled out of any England squads
