Joey Barton

"One of our players suggested I should try to take 1 of theirs with me...Never worked but god loves a trier. #reallynotbother #wearesafe"

That is a clear-cut case of bringing the club's name into disrepute. If they want to sack him, they shouldn't have any issues proving gross misconduct.

Someone will take him, you can be sure of that.

This has probably been discussed before, but did Tevez hit him first like some people claim? I've watched it a few times and can't really tell. Looks more like pushing and shoving.

(not that it makes the slightest difference)

It looks like just a bit of jostling to me. Replays are poor

I think we should be very thankful his actions on the day. Up to that point he was having a very good game (by his standards at least) Most of the 5 extra mins were due to this incident and it meant we were playing against 10 men. Maybe a greater force at play? The fact that we won the title in dramatic circumstances and benefitted from his actions should increase his misery just a little

Hughes doesn't strike me as being the kind of Manager to tolerate disruptive players and he might arguably be the significant factor in moving him on. I'd expect someone like Nedum Onouha to be named Captain at QPR, too.

a QPR friend of mine has said Hughes has just given an interview on radio, saying it would cost 11m to sack him, but he will never play for thi club again, he can rot in the reserves

If Barton had accepted the initial red card and gone off the field of play without further incident, would it have been a four game ban?
If so, can QPR fine him eight week's money or however many weeks it will take for them to play those further eight matches (some will be league cup games) as Barton's made himself unavailable through his own violent actions

I know that twat Gordon Taylor will have something to say if QPR did try, but really an example needs setting on violent conduct

Yes. 3 game ban for a straight red for violent conduct, and an extra game for it being his second red of the season (same as Mario at the Emirates).
