No. No I don’t. You literally said that a pundits job is for a quick chat and not great insight into the game itself, when by description, their job is to offer tactical insight.

Yes, it tells you that I’m not a precious, little soft touch who is offended by anyone who isn’t white, male or an ex-male professional Premier League player talking about football on the tele.

You agreeing with Barton should tell everyone else enough about you.

There have been black pundits on TV for a very long time now, sounds like people seem to have a big problem with white men.

Everyone agrees Barton is a **** but it doesn't mean that people are justified in spitting venom at every other white male, that's stupid isn't it?
 
There's a good interview with David Gower in The Telegraph.
He basically says he was "pushed aside, to make room for modernity", when his Sky contract wasn't renewed.
That's why we have so much "box ticking". Media companies are scared that certain demographics aren't being seen/heard.

Mate, have you ever tried to find the slightest bit of insight from Martin Keown on punditry?

Merely playing the game at a very high level absolutely does not translate into articulate and thoughtful analysis.

If the game was a wash with startlingly good pundits then you may have a point, however it is fundamentally flawed(?) - the female pundits don't need to be singled out for being shite, they are generally up to the required standard (Scholes, Owen, Savage, McManeman et al - all equally as wank)..........

This is exactly what we have all been demanding in a slightly different form - we are sick of all of the male pundits mainly being associated with Arsenal, Liverpool and 'Manchesh' Yoonated'.........

The reason it sounds like that, is because of the group of white men who are lumping people of different races in with this box ticking argument. Most of those posts or insinuations that people are hired to ‘tick a box’, includes people of different races.

I, for one, couldn’t care less of colour nor gender or sexuality of whoever wants to talk about football. But that makes me woke, apparently.

The cricket commentary is a disgrace, since they got rid of the established talent en masse.

I don't think they are, in fact I see a lot of people thinking Barton is a twat and only having the fact they are white males shoved in their faces.

Maybe stop treating white males like they are all Joey Barton would be a start, and if they have an opinion on their biggest interest at least consider it's because they are not white middle aged men but people.
 
Barton has always been an obnoxious, pompous and egotistical lad. Not one to avoid controversy. He's to football as Farage is to politics. I think this Joey Barton character is an absolute degenerate clown who lacks any intellect to communicate his points but people pay their hard-earned money to these TV channels and streaming services to receive the top end analysis of the game, it's all part of the fan experience, it's not just about watching the game but receiving a package. These TV companies have a duty to appoint the best knowledge football experts in the business.
