John Guidetti: 20 goals and 6 assists in 23 for Feyenoord

Re: John Guidetti: 14 in 13 for Feyenoord

Isn't this the point of a loan, he gets good experience and comes back to us ready to step up and compete for a first team place. Maybe this is why we haven't splashed out on another striker yet.

If he was ready to play in a top league for a top club he wouldn't be on loan he'd be in our squad. Hopefully next season this will now be the case.

Beckham went on loan to Preston (hardly La Liga) and he did alright out of it.

Re: John Guidetti: 14 in 13 for Feyenoord

Danny Welbeck was playing for Preston in the Championship at the same age and it is a similar standard if not slightly lower and his record was only 2 in 8 although he was good apparently. Many would have doubted he'd have the impact he has at United, a good player for them, maybe Guidetti can possibly do the same? He's doing much more at the same age anyways.

the dutch league was much better back then

You just want Guidetti to join Arsenal, knowing full well of Wenger's interest and his scouts' repeated visits to watch him - admit it.
dude seriously i have explained this to alot of people. im not an arsenal fan. who ever people are mixing me up with, Im not that person. This is getting tiresome. I just create a new account now so i dont have to deal with this

Re: John Guidetti: 14 in 13 for Feyenoord

We played him in the Carling Cup last season... unfortunately we played the rest of 'em too, and too many Championship/League One players in that generation of youths so we lost to West Brom! Guidetti got a nice assist for the mighty Jo in that, his only first team appearance for us that I can think of.

Re: John Guidetti: 14 in 13 for Feyenoord

I'd be more impressed if he had this kind of a scoring ratio in the championship. He's scored 2 hat tricks in his last 2 games, so before that are we looking at 8 in 11 in a league where everyone scores for fun. That doesn't look near as impressive.

But did you also consider the fact that he scored these hattrick against the top teams FC Twente and Ajax and that these were close games (3-2 and 4-2 wins).

His goal ratio is by far the best in the league. The stats below are goals, pens, games and ratio.

Bas Dost SC Heerenveen 17 4 19 89
Luuk de Jong FC Twente 15 1 19 78
John Guidetti Feyenoord 14 5 13 107
Dries Mertens PSV 14 1 19 73
Malki Roda JC Kerkrade 12 0 18 66
Miralem Sulejmani Ajax 11 2 17 64
Ola Toivonen PSV 11 0 19 57
Tim Matavz FC Groningen, PSV 11 0 19 57
Marc Janko FC Twente 10 3 16 62
Glynor Plet Heracles Almelo 10 0 19 52
Wilfried Bony Vitesse 9 2 16 56
Rasmus Elm AZ 9 3 18 50
David Texeira FC Groningen 8 0 15 53

Guidetti had a meeting today with Brian Marwood and Patrick Vieira who were both at the game. They confirmed to him that he will be staying for the rest of the season.

The Dutch league isn't the best in Europe, maybe 7th best or so, but has good technical quality, many good players, and should not be discounted as a Mickey Mouse league. Many of its top players who Guidetti is playing just as well as are highly rated, like Luuk De Jong (linked with Liverpool/Newcastle), like Van Der Wiel (linked with Chelsea/Valencia), like Vertonghen (linked with United/City/Spurs/Inter), like Christian Eriksen (linked with City/United/Barca/Chelsea), like Wijnaldum (linked with Inter), and like Mertens (linked with Bayern)

It's been a great move for all concerned. Had he stayed at City he'd have been lucky to make the bench. Better to play and experience top flight football.

Next season he will come back as a confident experienced striker
