John Guidetti

Perhaps we should give our academy players a chance to develop before judging them?

You have to be kidding! Support players we've brought through and developed? Can't we just slate them? It seems to be the thing people do on this forum and I don't wanna miss out.

This guy was outstanding for the EDS last year and I don't think you can make that kind of comment after watching him play his FIRST senior game. Maybe he had a touch of nerves on his big occasion like any football player making his debut.
And besides, I am sure the likes of Bobby Manc know a good prospect when he see's one. And to be honest when I read he could be leaving I thought shit, we are letting our most promising young talent go a talent we could well regret loosing.

He will come good, give him time. He is just one of many young talented players we are blessed with.

It wasn't his first game. He played against West Brom in the Carling Cup last season and was involved in our goal.

He's quite highly rated I think.

My only concern is that his movement didn't look very good with a couple of exceptions; however, as stated it's quite possible he was having an off game. His finishing looked nice (unlucky on the post) and he appears to have good instincts. I couldn't tell you from that game what his passing or ball skills are like as he didn't get a chance to show those aspects.

Like Jo, I don't see why he can't do a job for us.

Sorry my bad, really dont know what I was thinking.

Carry on people.

If we judged on pre-seasons, Kompany would have been offloaded to Macclesfield and half of the squad would have been sold last summer!

Guidetti is one of the best strikers at reserve level in England, he needs chances at first team level, be it for us or a loan to a decent club but he has a top flight future ahead of him, whether at City or elsewhere. Look at how other reserve level standouts like Albrighton (Villa), Hoilet (Blackburn), and Coleman (Everton) benefited from first team football last season.

Felt really sorry for guidetti last night. Worked tirelessly on his own up front but had fuck all to feed off with the hopeless mancini, vlad weiss who very much flattered to deceive, and Mr Billy Big Bollocks himself Lee Sharpe the 2nd Adam johnson behind him, none of whom gave him anything or even looked like giving him any sort of decent supply. Well, apart from billy big bollocks who could have slipped him in for a simple open net but obviously thought only of number one and shot....and missed

I agree although it was Weiss who AJ should have squared it to. Guidetti was unlucky with his chance that hit the post after one of Yaya's trademark surges
