I think this is worth a topic. I have seen many posters here hype this guy and even say that he should be our 4th choice striker over Jo!

I mean....i dont rate Jo, but he is twice the player Guidetti is.

Yesterday i saw the full game and watched the highlights later...

Guidettis first touch sucks, no creativity, ball control even worse, bad passing, movement is shite aswell....he might be a good finisher but why the hell is City offering him a new contract?

Just being honest.

Are not the right platforms for judging a player, one is against a now Conference side's youth team and the other is 45 mins in a friendly where he got no service at all, the only service he got he nearly scored.

what a knob
you clearly never get off your lazy backside and go and watch the EDS do you.

theres a reason mancini has fought to keep him. something that is clearly lost on you
I must be a nob aswel coz I think he's shit and would go as far as to say that he will never be a regular 1st team player for city imo.
Your words, no-one elses.
why call somebody a nob because they have a different opinion on a player than you do? is that not a very nobbish trait to have on a fuckin football forum?

Johns not been doing all exercises in training because of insuranceissues, not having a contract.
Give him a week or so, he´ll reach his normal standard.

Honestly, I don't think you even know what you are going on about.

How can you make this judgement on him from this one game you have seen? Having seen him on loan last season (and his games for Sweden U21's) I can tell you that you are wrong. There is absoluetly nothing wrong with his ball control, passing, movement or creativity. Gudietti has ONLY JUST turned 19 and already you're questioning why he is being offered a new deal. Well maybe, just maybe it's because the coaches and manager at the club know something about football and don't make their mind up on player's after watching Highlights of ONE MATCH.

Anyway here are some more HIGHLIGHTS of Gudietti throughout his career and not in the first pre season game of the tour.

For a 19 year old footballer he's doing well and still developing.

Well, fair enough. That video didn't convince me at all. I have seen some of his goals and that overhead kick and they are really impressing. In that friendly for example...when you watch him in the highlights against club america. Everytime he got the ball he struggled to control it or he he misplaced the pass or had trouble finding another teammate.

Some people said that he should be played over Jo last season. And some even suggest that he is good enough to be 4th choice this season.

But when i watched him play. I didn't see any difference between Andrea Mancini who is rubbish and this guy. Both struggled.

I just dont think he will ever make it at City.

dont know if this has been posted but

Swedish prospect John Guidetti has signed a new three-year deal at Manchester City.

Good cause he is shitband we need another young player to abuse and drive out of the club! If only we had tried a little harder with Richards! ;-)

I think we have to be realistic yes he is a good player but at city now there isnt that many chances you either perform in guidetti's case or there is bolatelli dzeko and possibly aguero to take the place and considering mancini only really plays 1 striker up front that wont give people many chances so i think he should go out on loan personnally. I dont think hes ready to challenge the first team players that we have

And at city now with the players and resources we have its unfortunate but you dont get 10 games to prove yourself

New story about Super John on Sky with interesting quotes by himself and his agent. Doesn't sound like someone about to head out on loan!

"After (considering) some other strong alternatives, John has decided on City when it came to signing a contract," Jonsson told Aftonbladet.

"To stand up against the increasing competition at Manchester City is what John Guidetti is all about."

Guidetti feels he has the backing of manager Roberto Mancini and is confident he will get opportunities to prove himself at City this season.

"For me it is really important that an important and skilled manager is engaged in my progress as player," he said.

"And when he is, you just need to listen."

He added: "The club will play a record number of games during the coming season and I am convinced that my chance will come, and I will be ready to take it.

"We have agreed on a good situation where I will work harder than ever before to establish myself as a player at this fantastic club with all its fantastic players and fans that really give all their support."

played fantastic and like he has something to prove. Glad he re-signed with us, exciting prospect.

Wonderful movement tonight. Very impressive and I hope he continues this and solidifies his place in the striker rotation for the first team.

He's very strong and well built for his age (only turned 19 a few months ago), of course an unfinished product but played well and was much better than Balotelli after they both came on.

Very impressed with Guidetti tonight, reminds me of a young shrek. I think'll be a cracking forward one day. Glad he signed a new contract.

I like the kid, good positioning and movement, but need to be calm and neat in front of goal, that will come with more game times though.
