These situations define Mancini as a manager for the moment or a manager for a lifetime. If he can spell it to John that if he performs well with his EPL loaned side, he'll have a spot for him when he gets back. The club needs young players. Especially cheap ones. The idea of a "B" team of:

-----------------Panti-----------------
Rekik-----xxxxx------xxxxxxx----xxxxx
------------Abu-------Rusnak--------
Suarez---------Razak---------Roman
------------------Guidetti---------------

Then you've got Scapuzzi, Bunn and more. These kids are of the highest touted talents in the Premiership.

If they were touted as the highest talents in the premier league then why do no premiership clubs want them on loan, and why do they never play for us in the fa cup or carling cup
A) who said they aren't wanted by PL clubs

B) Pantimillon, Rekik, Suarez, Razak and Guidetti have all played in the League Cup

why have none of them gone on loan to premier league clubs then, instead to championship or lower

Pantillimon didnt notice on there- thought it was more about youth players, but rekik played about 15 minutes didnt he or somethign like that, razak played about two games, guidetti played one, suarez bearly played.

we need to be giving these lads full games in the carling cup and fa cup cos without the reserve league they arent getting much game time and havent all season

You will find few clubs who have use for 16-18 year olds, especially clubs willing to offer young players their first level of experience. Players like Mceauchran and Frimpong already netted 10-15 games of experience before they were loaned and McEauchran has seen limited time with Swansea. Henri Lansbury is one of England's top young midfielders and
hasnt gone on loan to a Premiership side.

The idea isn't to throw young players, especially 17 year olds onto relegation strapped sides. They need places where they have positive experiences. Places like Brighton and West Ham for example.

Our club is doing a decent job of exposing young players to the professional atmosphere but it's difficult with a deep side, high expectations and a poor development process for young players.

Rekik and Razak have had top clubs watching them
at every match. We have an incredible young foreign base. We lack in striking but players like Pozo (Real's crown jewel) will soon change that.

I'd have to agree that this seems to be our strategy. Give young players the confidence they need by playing them in the lower leagues or abroad to the dutch league which isnt as strong as ours. It seems to be working aswell.

We are forming new partnerships in these technically good leagues to send players too. Feyenoord of course (also NEC but we'd send less talented youths there like Ibrahim) but now Eintracht Frankfurt in Bundesliga.2 (with the hope they'll get promoted as they are 2nd) and according to a Portuguese report a month ago (but not confirmed yet) Sporting Braga in the Portuguese league. Some great options for our young prospects in future, better than Royal Antwerp that the rags have anyway!

The problem with our kids is they are not going to get much 1st team experience with City. Our focus is getting some silverware in the cabinet over the next few years as a priority.

Giving our kids 1st team football is going to come from loans, problem is the kids have to be a) good enough to be wanted and b) show when they are at their loan club that they are good enough to actually fight for a 1st team place at City. Lower league clubs are always scouting top PL reserve games looking for a cheap loan that can help them out - if they're not doing enough to impress scouts that they are good enough for a loan then all the club can do is offer them out for loan and hope.

If they go to a Championship club it's not good enough now for them to be having the odd sub appearance, they need to be forcing their way into the 1st team and nailing down a starting spot. If they go to a League 1 or 2 club then they need to be lighting up the division and showing they are a cut above everyone else. Anything less than that probably means they have no chance of making City's 1st team squad. The standard for the squad is so high now that you pretty much have to be world class, or at least European class to make it into the squad. At a minimum, I would expect the kids to be a regular starter for their U19 & U21 national teams and even that may not be enough.

It's a sad fact of life that for a kid to make our 1st team squad now he needs to be showing by the age of 19 he is going to be another Kun, Balo, Rooney (spits), Wilshere, Joe Hart, Micah, Zidane Cleverly or Beckenbauer Jones (OK, taking the piss with the last 2 :p). This calibre of player will not come along very often so a lot of City academy kids are going to find themselves looking at another club around 18-20 years old. They can still have a good career, just not a £100k+/week career with a team that wants to compete every year for the PL title and CL cup (eventually).

Wants to be on the first team next season or else.... i think we should give him the chance to break into the first team next season.

Off load tevez in the summer no reason not to bring back as 4th choice more than capable of 10 PL goals a season then carling cup fa cup matches very promising young talent that deserves a chance

John thinks very very highly of himself and wants to be the very best, nothing at all wrong with that, except,he will not be happy sat on our or anyone elses bench.....

I think he will be offski earning us a few quid.

I dont understand this 'fourth' choice striker business. It is all based on form.

Granted Aguero starts the majority of games but Balo and Dzeko seem to rotate starting matches depending on who is on form / midweek games too.

There is no such thing as fourth choice here if he was banging them in he would start whenever fit, we play with 2 strikers quite a bit now so would get plenty of minutes (assuming we manage to offload tevez)
