I’d rather play Taylor bellis. And he is 17! More balls, more sense, a good defender and city fan so he will actually give a shit. There are one or two in this squad just picking up a wage.

He’s not got anything particularly special though to start with if you break down his attributes as a central defender. Pace no, strength no, great in the air no, organisational skills no, two footed no. Probably the greatest myth about average John is that he’s great on the ball. He’s undeniably got a decent touch but when have you ever seen him create anything with a great pass or by attacking the space he often has? He takes the easy option every time and usually that means a 20 yard square pass.
Not just the easy square option though, it comes after 10 seconds of pretending he is looking to break the lines. Slows us down every time.

A harsh but truthful assesment of where Stones is at right now.

In a nutshell. He looks quite vacant. He’s there, but not really there. Definitely a mental issue. I don’t know if he’s been unwell for a while, suffering a bit? But it seems that way.
Its quite apparent there is something very wrong. Some of the comments here not very helpful-we as a society are crap at mental health. Perhaps its support he needs, in all aspects of his life, and not turning into a figure of hate. At the top of his game he is a superb defender-brave, excellent positional sense, great on the ball-thats the Stones we have seen and hopefully will see again.

Pep was on at him about his lack of positive demeanor on Saturday, as he took an age to make a short pass and then just ambled around without any alertness. All he did in response was point and say but the balls down there now. Not what Pep was looking for and he was fuming about it with his bench colleagues.
