I keep reading about how Jose was in for Stones last season yet he and Chelsea didn't like the fee so he stayed an Everton player and had an even worse season. Somehow because players who's actually had good seasons have seen their value rise, Stones is worth 10M more because "TV MONEY"????


All and all, it's a bit telling that it's about to be 2 teams who can easily pay the fee walk away from the table.

If your workplace told you that you weren't going anywhere for at least 12 months, would you keep your current wage or accept it tripled?

I think you said earlier that Stones was on £30k a week. I think it's a safe bet to assume that a £50 million player will be on substantially more than £80k per week.

There is also the knock on effect of breaking your wage structure to keep a player.

How much will you then offer Lukaku who you value higher than Stones? Then what about the likes of Baines, Coleman and McCarthy when then want new deals?

Keeping a player against his will when you're valuing him at a lot of money will have a huge knock on effect.

City have walked away from the likes of Pogba because of his wage demands and how it will effect the others players.

Of course, Everton could simply keep him on his current contract and he would have to honour it, but good luck with that.

Regarding the fee, my argument doesn't matter now, but EFC knew a year ago he wanted to go. It would have been simple as a big Premiership club to line a replacement up. You leave it until a week before the season, or later, any extra monies you get in now, will go out again in an increased deal as clubs will see you coming.

Timing makes no difference. If he leaves, a replacement is needed.

Why didn't you last yet when valuing him at £40m plus?

Its all BS, them fools at grand everton think Moshi will bee buying superstars, but unles they sell Stones and Lukaku they wont be spending. If they sell those, then there is their promised warchest. And even then they will replace them with average players for fraction of cost. Imagine Distin for quid and Kone on loan. Just your typical businessman with no ambition. They are thinking they will get Matas and Witsels and will outbid Chelsea for Koulibaly lol

Last year was a write off, you cant judge him on that. Just like we cant judge Hazard, Fabregas etc on Chelsea's form (until Mourinho left) - obviously my opinion means nothing to you but he is worth it. There's a reason Mourinho and Guardiola both want him.

But Fabregas and Hazard have performed to the level of their respected prices, Stones has never performed like a £50M defender and not like he has to at the age of 22 but to be amazed people baulk at £50M is a bit overboard. At the end of the day, anything is only worth what any person so is willing to pay, just have to wait and se if anyone deems him worth £50M

Definitely in effect for the UEFA competitions. Don't think they differentiate in the league though.
