You can see City compromising at whatever you want mate.

Everton will not be selling for less than £50m. It's not up for debate. This is straight from the top.

We'll sign him and you won't see 50m unless we win the league and Champions League. Your tin pot chairman will be able to announce it as higher (just like the Sterling deal which was 44m) but you'll only ever see that money should we prove to be successful, in which case it'd be money well spent.

40 million seems to me a price worth the gamble, because it is a gamble in my eyes. A very dodgy season last year, but he has obvious potential. I would prefer to see us go with Tosin rather than get screwed by Everton.

Why?

If your workplace told you that you weren't going anywhere for at least 12 months, would you keep your current wage or accept it tripled?
If my workplace refused me a move to a better place of work on two separate occassions and placed a value on me far exceeding my current worth yet were reluctant to pay me a wage reflecting that value then yes, I'd wipe my arse with their sham of an offer. Fuck the paper cuts.

Everton didn't offer him a contract and wage reflective of their valuation of him when Chelsea came knocking, why do it again or why would he buy into it should they decide to offer him a new deal just so they can ask for more once again next season.

Everton will forever be midtable, investment/TV money or not, and you're denying a player his request to get out and bettter his career. I'd hope he'd shit at the gate first before taking any contract off your hands first.

I didn't mention his wage.

Everton don't need 'luck' with keeping a player.

Timing makes no difference. If he leaves, a replacement is needed.

What?

One of the Everton fans who posts on here said that Stones has 3 years left on a £30k a week deal.

Then an Everton fan (might have been the same one) said that Stones will get an extra £50k a week on a new deal.

So why would Stones accept an £80k a week deal at a club he has wanted out of for the past 2 seasons?

Now if you think Stones will stay at a club with no CL football and on a less wage than he could be on elsewhere then that's delusion.

Rooney who was a lifelong Everton fan fucked off at the first opportunity he could, so why wouldn't Stones who has no lifelong affinity to Everton?

As I said good luck at keeping a player, who wants out, for the long term whilst offering him a lesser deal than he could elsewhere. Oh and whilst still getting a good deal in the long run.

Think about it. For 2 years you have tried to leave your employer and they have refused to let you go. Why would you sign a new contract with that employer when in 12 months time you could buy yourself out of that contract and go and play for a club you do want to play for on huge wages and who will pay you a huge signing on fee.

Everton are in the driving seat at the moment but as we found out with James Milner the player will win out in the end

And if he leaves before the window shuts, you don't think clubs will take advantage of your position and add a few Million to the price. of course they will.

He's an Everton player and you can sell him for what you like, but if you see a world record fee then you are effectively disregarding and ignoring his transfer request. Your look out. Having a look at your squad seems obvious that you could do with investing some of those millions in the team.

Its all BS, them fools at grand everton think Moshi will bee buying superstars, but unles they sell Stones and Lukaku they wont be spending. If they sell those, then there is their promised warchest. And even then they will replace them with average players for fraction of cost. Imagine Distin for quid and Kone on loan. Just your typical businessman with no ambition. They are thinking they will get Matas and Witsels and will outbid Chelsea for Koulibaly lol
Stoke signed plenty of good players. City bought Anelka in days gone by. The whole of the Premiership has gone crazy apart from Everton and Sunderland and it's everton who were one of the teams I expected to spend big.

So did I, mate. I genuinely thought they will become big player and compete for top4 and title with time, also bring exciting players to league. But it seems they another Venkys and wont buy anyone of note without selling assets. 100+ M warchest without selling anyone lol. 2 weeks till league starts, tick tock

He might come to City and he might end up being an excellent player. He might do both but, what I struggle with, is how he's worth 17 times more now than he was 3 years ago?
The lads only played 100 league games and a quarter of them were for Barnsley. Since he signed Everton have played 153 competitive games and he's played in 95 of them, quite a few as substitute. It seems to me that Everton don't actually value him that highly until it's time to fleece City, once again. Let him stay there and let's see how his value changes over the last three years of his contract. He might be a blinding player by then..
