John Stones

TV deal is irrelevant. It's a drop in the ocean to what Moshiri (and, looking increasingly more likely, Usmanov too) will bring over the next three years.

I fear you are forgetting the very FFP rules that Everton were all too eager to domestically endorse. You have a 38000 capacity shed of a ground, your income levels are a country mile below those of United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, and your spending levels and ability to attract top players will always be limited as a result, regardless of how much money your new owner has. We were lucky, we were the last ones over the drawbridge before the old Sky 4 teamed up with Platini, Milan, Munich & Co to try and nobble prospective future competitors. Meanwhile Everton went and joined the other turkeys voting for Christmas by agreeing to FFP in the Premier League. Sorry mate, but you ain't getting a snout in the trough - and by association, winning 'owt - anytime soon

If he feels he wants him then he should tell Txixi to spend the £50m.

Managers are not always right on everything. The best just happen to get much more decisions right than wrong.

I don't think I am alone in believing Stones has to improve in his defensive skills.
You don't know what Pep has told him and what is currently happening.

Boom. :-)

40mil is a fair price and if we are going to walk away then fair enough. Pep has perhaps seen enough from Tosin, Denayer and Otto.

Could he be deployed in a defensive midfield role?

If the answer is yes, then it's not too difficult to understand why he's so highly regarded by Pep. Such versatility would increase our options in a position where we somewhat weak.

Apparently, according to that bastion of reliability known as twitter, we've more or less told Everton that £40m is our final offer, and to take it or leave it. It's on the Citywatch page.

If Mourinho wanted him, Chelsea still wanted him and we do, then it will drive his price up. Everton would sell to the highest bidder.

Yet it seems that Txiki has pursuaded Stones to join us. Therefore, the other clubs haven't got involved meaning we can at least negotiate with Everton.

To put it simply, if another club offered Everton what they wanted then we wouldn't be in a position to negotiate.
So what your saying is that if they still wanted him, then there is competition. Can you confirm the rags and chavs still want him but backed off because of Pep.
