In regards to our academy lads, nobody knows yet how good they will turn out, even with Denayer we don't know how good he will be for City yet.

Stones for me has proven in the last 12/18 months that he is on his way to becoming the best English ball-playing defender since Ferdinand, he isn't perfect but you can see he is a player if top quality whom for me would get into any side in England.

the boy struggles to pass and control a ball. that stuff has nothing to with defensive ability, its basic footballing skills
 
The 3 upcoming matches against Everton will enable us to get a good close look at their players, especially the 3 we are possibly interested in. BB&S.
 
We could buy Franco Baresi in his prime and he would look fucking shit.

We don't need to buy any more CBs, we need a manager with half a clue how to inspire collective work rate and set up a solid midfield.

Demi will not be here, Mangala has not convinced to say the least, Kompany is injury prone and coming towards the twilight of his career.

That leaves Otto and possibly a returning Denayer.

We definitely do need to look at the CB position.
 
Everton have some good players but as far as I'm concerned the only person with potential to be world class is John Stones. He for me is a must buy in the summer along with Pogba.
 
With Kompany injured again and Demi past it, I think we need a good CD in Jan. Someone with proven premiership pedigree. No more expensive punts on nice looking guys from Europe.
 
Break the bank for him in Jan. Maybe let demichelis go in Jan too and then make a decision on Manga in the summer and possibly sell him with Denayer returning. With Vinny getting injured like this we need to look to the future and Stones is the best in his age group for me, so it'd be a good idea to snap him up before Chelsea, rags etc get him.
