No I haven't,I'm interested in what happens on the pitch to be honest,Pelligrini didn't do a book, but won the league,I'm hoping the same happens here

That's fair enough. The author, while writing it, was privy to pretty much everything that went on behind the scenes. He couldn't stress enough Pep's attention to detail in everything and why it was a factor in the in his success.

Anyways, you should check it out. Pretty good reading :)

Look this is really fucking dull.

DeBruyne is a great player, one of the best. City were a better team for two years before he arrived. hje didn't make 'the' fucking difference at all because it's not possible. It's a team game & City will be fucking great in the next few years, irrespective of whether we sign John Stones.
Ok you're getting confused.

You said if Stones was essential he'd have been signed by now.
It was pointed out that KDB hadn't signed by this stage last season.
You said he wasn't essential.
A poster disagreed.
You said 'yeah because he made the difference'
It was pointed out to you that he obviously did given 1 win in 7 when he got injured.

You're now saying one player making the difference isn't possible.

I've just answered that.

I probably will do mate, one day

Don't be personal, your showing a weakness there, but what you have to remember is that this is a forum, about opinions, and some may well differ from yours, but you don't seem to want to acknowledge that fact, you always want to be seen as what you say is always right, that's what reading books does for you I guess

Yes, but some opinions are based on facts. Facts that can be gleaned from reading books and thus knowing a little bit more about the work and attention to detail that goes on behind the scenes.

If you'd read the book then you'd know comments such as "we've probably seen more of Stones than Pep has" and "what with Pep's Sky subscription" etc would be laughed at by people that are aware of the work that goes into making a signing. And you would also be aware that whilst he's on the training pitch for 90 minutes a day, he works seven days a week and is in the training ground for more than 12 hours a day.

The man lives and breathes football.

And I am so grateful that we have him,I really am,but this thread is about the potential signing of John Stones for 50m,which I just do not get,on the evidence of what I have seen, opinion, and opinion only

And that is absolutely fine.

The thing you said that I disagreed with is that we will have seen more of Stones than Pep has.

He put a transfer request in, I'm pretty sure he didn't do that just for a laugh.

Wasn't aware of that. Fair enough. As I said though, not really concerned whether we sign him or not. I'd sooner pay £60m for a proven world class defender around 25 years of age than another £40m on a potential. Especially with those we have at the club already. No one saw Kompany becoming what he did when we signed him as a defensive midfield/centre back hybrid. I think Pep may seriously consider using Fernandinho at centre back if Kompany doesn't recover from injuries.

If Pep wants Stones, happy days. I'm not sure why, but for some reason I trust his judgement. He must have been successful in previous jobs. Mourinho wanted him too... I'd say he's doing pretty well for himself to an extent too.

I think we should pull away now and let Everton manage the fall out. One man is not going to make or break our season and as others have said £50m could be spent elsewhere. The fact we have not caved in and paid it suggests the club are not that bothered either.

The Crankies could have won the league with what Pellers inherited... Pep is a planner thankfully and we no longer have to resort to the chicken bones any more to determine tactics...

£50 mill is a lot of money but at the same time we are seeing a window in which Troy deaney is above £30 mill. The simple fact is we are buying young English potential and in reality Utd paid £30 million for Rio back in 2002 so 45-50 now I'm not to fussed about because my opinion is John Stones is perfect for Pep and Manchester city and will become one of the very best in world football.

Not to be too picky, but Deeney ending up going nowhere,no wonder at 30m,I hope that what people see in Stones for the future,is correct.....well if we get him I do
