And this season we've signed Gundogan, possibly the best midfielder in the bundesliga last season, who apparently won't make an immediate impact because he's missing the first 2 games.

Then there's Sané who will probably go straight into the team and massively upgrade RW, and possibly even Stones as well.

Those two saw more of him than you and I did. I saw him four times against City and although he did one or two things where he looked a good footballer he did not strike me at being a CB who I thought was a must-have for City. Now I think about it, in at last two of those matches he played at right back and with two incidents with Sterling that jump to mind, he didn't cover himself in glory,with or without strange refereeing.

If he does come to City I will back him to the hilt although the fee is a hard one to defend. But I have never been one to think if he comes to City he must be a good player and will be a good buy for us. I have seen too many failures over many years to buy into that sort of future blind loyalty.

Whatever they do they need to do it quick.

I don't think our midfield is comparable to Barcelona, Madrid or Bayern, I don't think that our defence is at the same level either. I'm more arsed about us reaching the levels of the elite clubs than Barker or Angelino starting.

Sorry I was not clear. I think its unrealistic for City to be the finished article at this moment. I remember us geting thumped in a Community Shield after winning the League and we hd a bad season, however against Arsenal there was plenty of desire and commitment. We just ket making defensive mistakes which is not a surprise given the defensive players

As long as attacking with all that quality means we never have to defend, then so be it. We've basically got 1 defender in that line up, Kompany and he's risky in injury terms. Clichy doesn't really count as a defender or a forward!

No Silva, no Nolito, no Nacho, no Yaya, no Nasri.
