I'm not joking. Not at the price he went for but he did show he had enough quality for us to sign him to begin with.
He is a terrible, terrible signing.

I was delighted when we signed him, clean cut, classy, footballing , English CB, a player Pep rated so, so highly.

What is he now? 5th choice, ex England and has completely lost the trust of a manager who backed him at every opportunity.

Sorry but John Stones is busted, he's damaged and is a liability.

Such a waste of talent.

He is still worth a lot more than £20m.

Try and get 15m for John and replace him in the squad with Tosin. A 4th/5th choice CB should be reliable fitness wise. If one of the top choice CBs goes down we need someone who can step in and Stones isn't that. Laporte, koulibaly/Carlos, Ake, Fern, Tosin is a good set.

If he would stay to fight for his place I'd love to see that.

WIth Ake + Koulibaly that puts him at 4th choice until proven otherwise (assuming Garcia is sold).

Ake will get time at other positions but I dunno if he wants that.

If we can't sell Nico then that makes things more difficult.

If I had to say ideal "worst case" if he wants to start, it would be to put him on loan for a season and hope he proves himself and he comes back the season later.

He is still 26, but I think questions about his mentality to complete consistently at our level is there and he has to prove that wrong somehow.

There are SURELY PL sides that would love to have him.

He has the qualities and talent. It's his mentality/mistakes, consistency and let's be honest, injuries also keeping him from being a "good" defender.

Adarbioyo has only come back from a half decent loan spell in the Championship. Similar circumstances to Angus Gunn.

He would be 5th choice behind Laporte, Koulibaly, Ake and Fernandinho. We don’t need a £50m signing for this role in the team.

Tomori had a half decent loan spell for Derby in the Championship before he came back to Chelsea this season. He’s now a decent squad option for them and has broken into the senior England squad as well.

We won’t know how Tosin fairs until he’s given a shot and it would be incredibly low risk given where he would sit in the pecking order. If he doesn’t cut it we sell him for a higher price than what we would have done as he’s a young ball playing CB with City on his CV and either try another academy lad (Harwood-Bellis) or buy a cheap back up when Fernandinho leaves.

We would move Tosin as well. He needs more games than Stones does
