Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

On that CFC forum one guy questions why Terry would want to move to City and also says he believes that MH is a temporary manager at City.

Well maybe this is the reason he's keen to come. I think he's sick of the ridiculous turnaround in managers at the Bridge. Ranieri was doing well but he got axed. Mourinho won them back to back Premiership titles and was sacked the next year. Avram Grant ran them very close in the title race and got them to the CL final and got sacked. Scolari stayed for less than a season. Now how long will Ancelotti be there?

Hughes has been given time to get City in order. I personally think he's doing a great job, and not just on the pitch. Everton and Arsenal season upon season punch above their financial weight because they have settled managers and I hate to admit it but Baconface has brought the rags a smattering of success here or there. :(

I have a great feeling about where we're going and I don't think Chelski have that. They don't even know who'll be manager come Xmas!!

Having said all that I think the media reports about money offered are likely to be way off because they always are.

nice rational argument.
Man - if we pull this off ...!!! woop!

Re: £300 grand a week for terry..£40 mill bid.

Seems the sun news paper reckons we are going to offer Terry this silly amount of money despite our owners saying that they will not be foolish.
What a load of booolacks.
weve held our offer to lescott at 15 mill so we should forget about terry for now..this sort of money could also play into the hands of Eto'o and he could well demand more..
we pay Robbie 160 grand a week and this is as far as we should go..
I hope the Suns legal team know what they're doing cos this stinks of a made up story if I ever heard one.

I dont care how much we pay for Terry and Eto'o these are players we need, Terry is a leader and Eto'o a superstar signing if we are to move up in our status and show the WORLD our intent it is big name signings that will do it. These signings would also encourage others to sign, it is no good having all this money and no top notch players. SIGN THEM UP!

i agree, i love these big signings as they shoot up our profile, improve our chances of success, and make us the envy of football. however the fact it hurts the rags and the media as much as it does brings a warm glow to my whole body:)

Agreed!

Re: £300 grand a week for terry..£40 mill bid.

Dont think the club will break the 160,000 per week ceiling yet. BUT there will most likely be bonuses on top. Clean sheets, Goals etc etc.

Make no doubt, the offer if we offer it will be very good.

Still cant believe we are going for these players. Pinch myself daily.

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

If we pull this off along with Etoo, Tevez & lescott we wont be aiming for top 6 anymore it is most definitely an assault on the top four, Fa Cup and Carling Cup.

Bring it on

Re: £300 grand a week for terry..£40 mill bid.

look at it this way
IF terry comes(and if you the belive the sun) he will earn £15M for 10 months work

Brad Pitt will do 2 films in a year and will earn £35M for maybe 4 months work

(gets ready to put his tin hat on!!!!)

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

Terry makes the point that Hughes is a temporary manager? This is City we don't do stability and long term plans right? Lose a couple of games and the manager don't know what he's doin!! I've heard it all now Hughes is a temp.

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

Would be great if the club pull this off, huge statement of intent. Great player, and would rip the heart out of Chelsea.

Andy Jacobs , that well know wickfukc quoted on Talksport this week as saying if Terry signs for City he will walk to Manchester naked. That would be amazing, not to see Andy Jacobs in the nude as I'm not weird like that and didn't serve in the Navy (only kidding you matelots out there), but to humiliate this anti blue southern prat.

Re: £300 grand a week for terry..£40 mill bid.

Terry could be a major catalyst for success and that appears to be how City view him so if Mansour wants to pay him the cash, I hope he takes it.
