Basically saying in his experience no smoke without fire - as far as he is concerned Terry or his people have spoken to city and said they are interested otherwise no offer would have been made.

He doesnt think he will come at the end of the day but with so much money......said its not the end of it by far.....

In fairness we only need to pull off one of these silly stratospheric deals and everything changes. Eto, Terry it doesnt really matter.

Only a matter of time, we will get one eventually and others will follow. Its only us and Madrid doing anything in the market at the moment.

We will certainly be stronger next season. Much much stronger this is certain.

Can the lIkes of Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal say the same with the players they are signing and likely to or have already lost.....

the fee for terry is irrelevant, its all about the statement it makes as to where we want to go ! 30m,35m,40m,45m just pay it if were serious about making this deal happen.

Chelsea go into tomorrow's FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United with a new vice-chairman, whose personal stake in the Stamford Bridge club is now the equivalent of a jackpot lottery win -pounds 26.5m.

Matthew Harding's step-up from director to become No 2 to the chairman, Ken Bates, looks to have ended a bitter public feud that had prompted the Chelsea manager, Glenn Hoddle, to delay signing a new contract.

Bates and Harding are now confident that Hoddle will stay after burying their differences on the back of the club's listing on the Alternative Investment Market, which could bring in pounds 30m over the next five years and make Chelsea the "Manchester United of the South".

Bates was "happy to reaffirm his original belief" that he views Harding as his successor. He added: "This has involved Matthew Harding in a further capital investment on an almost unprecedented scale - his total commitment is now pounds 26.5m."

For his money, Harding also gets to chair a committee responsible for playing affairs, including contracts and transfers

Blimey, that's an old article , well done for dragging it up. The money he invested was never for players though, his area was very much stock and share based.

The bottom bit you highlighted whilst perhaps true, never came to fruition though. For obvious reasons.

At this moment in time we have signed Barry and RSC, hardly enough to be planning an assault on the top 4. You seem to of forgot how bad we were last season. Even Eto and Tevez wont help we need a defence mate. Terry would be a good start but i cant see it happening.
