For people who still don't believe that Terry is a very real possibility they need to ask themselves a few questions:-
-Why would we make another bid for him?
Could be a few reasons. Maybe Terry's camp, knowing of your interest, encouraged it so he could get a better contract at Chelsea.
-If he's so in love with Chelsea and wants to stay there for the rest of his career as captain (as Ancelotti has said) why hasn't he come out and just given a quick statement saying he doesn't want to leave?
Terry did make a statement after City's first bid. The club rejected both and made it clear that he's not for sale. He doesn't have to make a statement. That media hysteria really got a lot of people here reading too much into it.
Then, for the people who are wondering why would he want to come to City:-
-We have a British manager and stability, not chopping and changing manager every 3 months.
Hughes has been with City for just one year and he didn't exactly impress considering the squad he had and expectations from the new owners.Let's wait and see how patient they will be after spending yet more money if things don't improve dramatically in a new season. Chelsea had their worst season in years in 2008/09 but still looked and performed on a different level to City. Check out the PL table.
-Bridge and SWP are there, both very good friends with him.
So? Lampard,Ashley and Joe Cole are his friends, too. Maybe he should go to United, since he's quite friendly with Ferdinand and Rooney.
-We are aiming for something, we are moving forward, signing the best in the business.
You're aiming for something we've been having for quite some time. A few years from now you may overtake one of the top four sides(possibly Chelsea) but as it stands now you've got a long way to go.
-We have passionate fans, something which has been lost at Chelsea.
I seriously doubt Terry will ever be appreciated y any other fans as much as he's revered at Chelsea, for obvious reasons.
-We will be aiming for top 4 so he SHOULD be back in the Champions League next year.
That's quite a jump - from the 10th spot to at least 4th. Not impossible, but I don't share your confidence. Even if you did, so what? Terry wants to win the CL and he has only 3-4 years left to do so. Next thing you're going to tell me he's got a better chance of winning in Europe with City than Chelsea in the next few years? Please.
Finally, why would Chelsea sell him?
- They would get around £30-40m for him and this is their last chance to sell him for any real money and Abramovic doesn't seem as keen to flash the cash anymore so this would pay for Lucio and Maicon with plenty of change left over!
Selling Terry will require Chelsea to look for the replacement, equal or similar in terms of individual quality and those players aren't exactly readily available and cost a fortune when they are. I'm not going even mention the effect of losing JT would have on the club since you can't put monetary value on such thing as leadership and a fighting spirit.
