Does he want to save Chelsea?...

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

As much as I would love to see him wearing OUR blue shirt, I have my doubts!.....

Actually feel that IF we got hime him it would be the best business we do - even over Tevez and Eto'o!

For people who still don't believe that Terry is a very real possibility they need to ask themselves a few questions:-

-Why would we make another bid for him?

-If he's so in love with Chelsea and wants to stay there for the rest of his career as captain (as Ancelotti has said) why hasn't he come out and just given a quick statement saying he doesn't want to leave?

Then, for the people who are wondering why would he want to come to City:-

-We have a British manager and stability, not chopping and changing manager every 3 months.

-Bridge and SWP are there, both very good friends with him.

-We are aiming for something, we are moving forward, signing the best in the business.

-We have passionate fans, something which has been lost at Chelsea.

-We will be aiming for top 4 so he SHOULD be back in the Champions League next year.

Finally, why would Chelsea sell him?

- They would get around £30-40m for him and this is their last chance to sell him for any real money and Abramovic doesn't seem as keen to flash the cash anymore so this would pay for Lucio and Maicon with plenty of change left over!

only agree with the last bit all the rest is crap imo

sounds quite reasonable imo

come on bridge and swp friends 2 friends compared to how many at chelsea
changing manager hughes is there 1 year and his job always looks under threat he must make top 6
hasnt made a statement chelsea done it for him + he's on hols
movin forward we've signed 2 players to date chelsea 1 iirc
chelsea ARE top 4 and WILL be next year aswell

i hope he comes but very very much doubt it

got to be 50/50. holiday or not, he or his agent would have issued a press release by now. theres no smoke without fire. we will see.

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

50/50 my arse (no offence warpig) but this is the England captain we are talking about. To right he should of said something. He would of knocked this right on the head if he wasn't considering it

Unless he is being strung up by his buster browns for match fixing/ or he has no mobile reception in Dubai or the reef or Essex

Could be a few reasons. Maybe Terry's camp, knowing of your interest, encouraged it so he could get a better contract at Chelsea.

Terry did make a statement after City's first bid. The club rejected both and made it clear that he's not for sale. He doesn't have to make a statement. That media hysteria really got a lot of people here reading too much into it.

Then, for the people who are wondering why would he want to come to City:-

-We have a British manager and stability, not chopping and changing manager every 3 months.

Hughes has been with City for just one year and he didn't exactly impress considering the squad he had and expectations from the new owners.Let's wait and see how patient they will be after spending yet more money if things don't improve dramatically in a new season. Chelsea had their worst season in years in 2008/09 but still looked and performed on a different level to City. Check out the PL table.

-Bridge and SWP are there, both very good friends with him.

So? Lampard,Ashley and Joe Cole are his friends, too. Maybe he should go to United, since he's quite friendly with Ferdinand and Rooney.

-We are aiming for something, we are moving forward, signing the best in the business.

You're aiming for something we've been having for quite some time. A few years from now you may overtake one of the top four sides(possibly Chelsea) but as it stands now you've got a long way to go.

-We have passionate fans, something which has been lost at Chelsea.

I seriously doubt Terry will ever be appreciated y any other fans as much as he's revered at Chelsea, for obvious reasons.

-We will be aiming for top 4 so he SHOULD be back in the Champions League next year.

That's quite a jump - from the 10th spot to at least 4th. Not impossible, but I don't share your confidence. Even if you did, so what? Terry wants to win the CL and he has only 3-4 years left to do so. Next thing you're going to tell me he's got a better chance of winning in Europe with City than Chelsea in the next few years? Please.

Selling Terry will require Chelsea to look for the replacement, equal or similar in terms of individual quality and those players aren't exactly readily available and cost a fortune when they are. I'm not going even mention the effect of losing JT would have on the club since you can't put monetary value on such thing as leadership and a fighting spirit.

-Why would we make another bid for him? - Because you always turn down the first bid even if it exceeds your valuation of him, first rule in any negotiation.

-If he's so in love with Chelsea and wants to stay there for the rest of his career as captain (as Ancelotti has said) why hasn't he come out and just given a quick statement saying he doesn't want to leave? - He may have talked to Ancelotti privately, if I were the manager before I went into that conference today I would have wanted to speak to my captain who is subject to a bid. If he did speak to Terry and Terry told him want to stay forever, Ancelotti has answered the question makes him look on his first day. If he hasn't spoken to Terry and tells the world he ain't leaving then Terry drops a transfer request on his desk on Thursday, new manager is going to look a right dipstick.

Then, for the people who are wondering why would he want to come to City:-

-We have a British manager and stability, not chopping and changing manager every 3 months. - Not according to some fans who would quiet gladly see the back of MH, in three years had Pearce, Sven and MH not the most stable club are we?

-Bridge and SWP are there, both very good friends with him. No doubt the whole of the Chelsea team are friend of his as well means jack shit.

-We are aiming for something, we are moving forward, signing the best in the business. - Chelsea have already won eight trophies but the CL is still missing no doubt that is the incentive for JT to win it and become first London club to win CL.

-We have passionate fans, something which has been lost at Chelsea - When I went to SB the shed end fans were not pussycats but with all football clubs the money you have to have means the more vocal fans might not be able to aford the prioces wgereas the richer fans aren't as committed. When we lowered our prices for the Hamburg game and made it accesible to thousand of blues who might not have been able to afford a season ticket the atmosphere went through the roof. Most other games we moan about lack of singing.

-We will be aiming for top 4 so he SHOULD be back in the Champions League next year He is in it this year why wait.

They don't need the money Abramovic is not down to his last penny yet.

hello bob see your STILL worried about terry leavin the 4th biggest club in London? you keep stating that there is nothing in this transfer, if that were true you wouldn,t feel like you had to write an essay every time you come on BM

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

If Terry does not come then it shows he lacks ambition. Chelsea are on the wain and have been for a few years now, the money is drying up and I think Terry knows that there is no way of him winning a chumps lge medal with Chelsea... The more I think about it the more it seems to make sense for all concerned.
