Just a thought. If John Terry does eventually put in a transfer request, Real Madrid will also be interested.

Then we have some serious competition.
But they will not pay him 200k to 300k a week.

The papers said it was a meeting but a Chelsea fan said that Abramovich was not at the meeting with the Terry. Can someone confirm this and if true what you think it mean for us?
Terry had a meeting with Eugene Tenenbaum.

While I have seen it quoted elsewhere that Terry met an aid of Roman and not Roman himself, you could have quoted one of those papers instead of the God awful Belfast Telegraph which is just Rag infested ;)

I hope JT makes a statement soon, as to why he wants to leave (if indeed he does). I'd like to know why even a month ago, he was harping on about wanting to be a one club player and loving Chelsea and now it is becoming quite likely he wants to leave? It's not so much he is leaving that irritates me, it's that he appears to be flat out lying when he has declared his love for Chelsea.

It's fair enough to move for extra money and not seeing enough potential at his current club, but just say so. Explain to the people that have paid your wage for the past 15 years that you want to leave for a less successful club that can offer more money and likely silverware in the future, and also explain why if your not happy at the club, why lie about it in almost every bit of press you have done?

In all fairness, if he goes he is going to a club that will be up there with Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Arsenal in a couple of years, but I'd say he is missing out on a brilliant chance to win some silverware this season. Sorry, guys, but I think Chelsea have a far better chance of winning something major than City this season- but just this season ;)

Totally fair comment that mate. To be honest, if Terry does leave Chelsea to come to us, I would be really worried if I were a Chelsea fan, that all is not well behind the scenes. Terry doesn't strike me as the type who would move for money alone (unlike someone like Eto'o who strikes me as one greedy bastard), so maybe there are some issues in the Chelsea camp that haven't been made public yet? Anyway, it would be a cracking signing for us with the added bonus of weakening a future rival, so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that we pull this one off.

Gerrard "very nearly" went to Chelski due to all the bongo you offered him...money talks.
Other players you have had to pay a premium for in the past have left far more successful clubs to join Chelski...money talks.
We are now playing exactly the same game that the top 4 have been playing for a number of years, only we're playing it at a totally different level.
The tricky bit for us (City), as it was for you, is breaking into the top 4. Once achieved it will be much easier to attract the worlds best players...as you well know.

Regarding success / silverware...the TF window is open for quite a while yet...anything could happen!!! ;-)
If JT wants to become part of the City project and achieve even more success, he could be making the best decision of his career.

I thought that, have you read about pennants deal, surely terry wouldn't want to play in the same team as tranny though.

Fair point FR22, but I honestly think Chelsea have only got themselves to blame over this.

The way you have got rid of managers over the past 2 years has been ridiculous. JT is even getting the blame for some of the sackings.

Avram Grant gets you second in the league and nearly wins the Champs league, yet is hated by the fans and sacked.

Hiddink gets 3rd place and is held aloft as a hero.

Hughes is a personal friend of Terry's, and ive no doubt he wants to play for him more than the next foreign manager on the chelsea conveyor belt.

The politics behind the scenes is a total mess.

We had the charade of Sturridge's press conference the other day, which was set up as an anti city attack. Yet who signed him ?? It certainly wasnt the manager.

We now have an announcement of a promotion for Arneson. Just what Ancelloti wants im sure.

Terry will be sacrificing trophies next season. But maybe he just wants oiut
