If Abramovich said we will give you more money but I don't think we can afford any more signings during this transfer window, would Terry want to stay?

Well the club is still actively searching for a 'marquee signing' so I don't see this being a plausible scenario.

So why do you think Terry's actually contemplating leaving Chelsea?

Now that would be news!

I wish these Chelsea fans would stop feeding us the crap that there players are not there for the money, players go to clubs with ambition (MCFC) and the money.

Give it two seasons and the calibre of player wanting to come to City will be different.
MCFC will be proved to be a bigger club than Chelsea as they always have been historically.

I agree, the noises coming out of Chelsea seem that they are pretty damn confident he's staying. I'll be a bit disappointed if he doesn't come, but he was bloody considering it and that's most definitely a step in the right direction. But, sooner it's over we can concentrate on getting other targets in, we need this sorted one way or another as soon as.

I always thought JT was straight?

Just shows you never know some people!

There is no way Chelsea would allow this situation to darg on for a minute longer than it needs to. All this talk of statements coming out, today, tomorrow, when returns from States, all bullshit.

If Terry has agreed to stay, it would be out of the camp (not a reference to Terry by the way) before you know it.

The reason for any delay is because nothing has been resolved. Chelsea may well offer improved terms, and even if that has been agreed, they would still insist on an announcement straight away.

There is no need to come out and say JT is staying because we have paid him more money.

If he is staying put, there is no obstacle whatsoever to that now becoming public knowledge.

Do you think Ade and Tevez actually came to City for a "fresh challenge"? I'd hope not.

Course not, they came to City for the same reasons that Drogba, Robben, Essien, Cole, Carvalho, Mikel, Bridge, SWP, Parker, Ballack, Shevchenko, Kezman (remember him), Johnson, the list goes on...moved to Chelski in Roman's early years...

Lets get one thing straight, the idea of the modern day footballing mercenary...it's pointless. They are professionals who are looking for the best deal they can get because their professional lifespan is much shorter than that of people in other jobs...

It's a hollow accusation which supporters cling to, and which the media reinforce when it suits them...

Spot fucking on Billyboy!

Exactly, so why would Terry be any different then?

You were doing good with "course not" till you descended into an ad hominem argument. A lot of those players were young when they arrived at the club, and the majority on that list are still with us. The ones that couldn't cut it have since been released (like SWP) other than Robben who also left us for money. The Portuguese contingent came because of Jose and Ballack was on a free. Just sayin'

There are better centre backs around for us to go for are there? Care to humour me, and name a few?

Vidic is for sure. I'd say Rio Ferdinand is as well. Puyol is better on his day as well as Alex in my opinion. JT's main stregnth is his leadership skills.

True, I'm actually surprised City didn't make a play for Ivanovic. I think it's because Terry is more than just a player, but also a symbol (England captain) and leader as well.

That is exactly what it is, please dont think we dont know that there are other defenders out there at least on a par with him.
