Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

Watched Mancienne in the under 21. Does not look like a decent player for me. Not fit to clean Richards or Nedums boots. Its well known his back if fucked and not the player he was. For all this talk I would be much happier with Calvalho (WHo is available) and Lescott.

I honestly believe this is payback for Sturridge and to make sure we end up getting Tevez at the end of the day. Funny though.

You cant be happy with the way he seems to be treating the club he is supposed to love though ?

Yeah he didnt play well has to be said. But dont write him off yet after a couple of bad games. Wouldnt be surprised if he ends up better than Richards before long. He looked top drawer in the few games he played for us last season.

All three of them had a bad tournament... 3-0 to 3-3, 4-0 drubbing in the final, these are not the scorelines of a good defense.

Its a bit odd he has said nothing for sure.

Best case scenario for Chelsea is that they are getting shaken down by their "True Blue" captain for an even bigger contract (Already on £140k a week and guranteed to be the higher made player).

Worst case scenario he has been talking to city behind their backs and want to jump ship for the money we are offering.

Not great from either angle really !

As they say what goes around comes around !

What City are doing is very very clever.

Of course we want Terry but in a way it doent matter of we dont get.

We are playing a very clever game here. By bidding for these players we are making a statement, "Come to City and we can give you A,B and C".

Sure some of the players we have gone in for are not that interested at the moment, we have a lot to prove still but what we will gain is these very players going to the chairman and saying, "Look City have offered me this, Match it please".

If the player stays, fine we miss out and get the next one but we still weaken our rivals by driving up the cost of contracts for the top players. Do you honestly think the likes of the Rags, Scouse and Chavski etc, can afford to pay what we can and if they want to?

For them its just not sustainable but for us it is.

Money talks fella's and we are really starting to hurt lots of clubs around the world!

The top players will come to City, mark my words!

As there are no direct flights between Dubai (where he was seen at the weekend) and Tenerife, it seems a doubtful story to me.

I wouldn't read anyhting to the paper section on the OS.

I would be interested to hear from our Chelsea friends what they think of Terry's silence. Are they surprised or worried by this? Do they expect something by XXXday?

Yes i am surprised. But he is on holiday and not due to return untill Thursday. I agree Chelsea have not helped themslves be releasing the website statement. Still the stance they are taking (backed up by Ancelotti today) means if Terry is going to leave he is going to have to force the issue himself.

I simply dont think he will.

Funny thing is, for all the talk of Mr Chelsea etc, he isnt the player he was a few years ago. He has really slowed and his back is playing up more than ever too. We would miss his leadership and organisation and to be fair money cant buy that.

But Alex had a storming season last year. Ivanovic is the real deal and Mancienne is waiting in the wings who looks good too, we would miss his leadership for sure, but not his current form. 45/50 million ? Jesus, id bite youre cock off for it.

Jesus, i felt wrong saying that. Some Chelsea fans would kill me, but im being a realist. If that money went back into the team, fuck me it might be worth it.

But it aint happening.

I guess Thursday's the day then when we'll all find out what Terry thinks. :-)

Chelsea fans credit Matthew Harding with starting the club’s climb back to the top.

A stand at the club’s Stamford Bridge ground is named in his honour.

Yeah it was the stand he helped finance , it was renamed his stand after he died.

Harding was popular with fans because he was one of us, he used to drink with the fans and travel with them to games, he was seen as a rival to the unpopular Bates and Bates saw him as a threat and and tried to limit his influence.

Honestly, there was no 'bankrolling' of anything.

Harding bought the freehold on the ground; and pumped in tens of millions in interest-free loans to finish the new North Stand and pay for player transfers.

Just Google Matthew Harding investments/ bank-rolled etc and look at the articles. e.g. ''Unsatisfied by the failures of John Hollins, Bobby Campbell, Ian Porterfield
and David Webb to transform the fortunes of the club, Bates appointed Glenn
Hoddle as manager in 1993 and a mediocre Premiership club began ascending
the table.

Hoddle's Chelsea reached the FA Cup final in 1994 and further success,
funded by Matthew Harding's cash, followed under Ruud Gullit and Gianluca
Vialli.''

Without Matthew Harding mate Chelsea were going nowhere fast.

And by the way by all accounts he was a 'diamond geezer'. RIP.

On the matter of a bigger ground then yes you might get bigger crowds now on the back of deacdes of investment and success. But try comparing unsuccessful Chelsea crowds to unsuccessful City crowds and you have to admit that Chelsea's fan base was never anywhere near the size of City's.
