I have to say i am elated he has decided to stay as i think if you had managed to sign terry you would be favourites for the title. However i am dissapointed in the number of man city fans who seem to be pleased you havent won his signature. Terry brings fantastic leadership to a club, he is a great role model for the youth team and always has time to offer support. One thing you guys wont see on the tv but at games is how he leads the team when going a goal down or when someone makes a mistake, he is great at lifting the players as well as being a cracking centre half. Onouha i rate highly and i think terry would have made him a much better player as well as richards. Terry has had his injuries but ask any chelsea fan what we were like without him for ten games, and when we had him for 30. I actually think you were very close to signing john and i wouldnt have slagged him off had he gone. City are the new sensation, im sure many players would love to be part of what your building. Just dont come after lampard next although i bet a lot of you would say hes crap etc, when he is the mr chelsea, unbeleivable player. Good luck next season guys, i look forward to welcoming you to a fa cup final!

It's denial on the most part. And to be expected.

Hughes and Cook are just looking like stupid c*nt that haven't left this deal before this greedy bastard released his hero statement to the world. This news will cause Lescott and Toure capture harder by 100 times (if there's no pre-contract agreement signed before.).

Now everyone has heard of City. For the last 3 weeks we have been all the talk on Skysports, Talksport, etc, etc. I think it could have only gone better if he'd have signed. Even though he isn't going to we are now taken seriously and people think we will sound be big players not just in England but in Europe.

All planned by Terry.
I think you'll find you're crediting a football player with more of a Machiavellian nature than is due.

Most can barely string a sentence together, much less put together a plot such as the fantasy you've outlined above.

I know what your saying mate but Mr Chelsea has ambitions of managing the club one day and what better way to put forward his credentials than to remind everyone of the time he turned down £250k a week to remain at Chelsea. He is one of the more intelligent defenders if that can be said.

If it makes you feel better then keeping telling yourself that fella.

They say we were turned down when we pull out so who cares?

Why would it make any difference?

If anything, they'd be more likely to come because they'll have more chance of a regular place in the team.

It's the same with everyclub, they always have fans who go into denial when things don't come of and you only have to look at what United fans think of Tevez now when a few months back they thought he was the bee's knee's

I never thought he would sign and never really wanted him for the reasons I have stated many times. People got pissed off with me but my posts are there to see.

At the end of the day he is obviously a quality player and a great leader on the pitch. But this whole episode has shown the bad side of his character. I cant believe CHelsea or their fans can be happy with the way "Mr Chelsea" has treated them.

The simple fact is he is not the player he was, clearly has problems with his back, he was not worth the money we were offering for him IMO. We can and will get players that will do as good a job overall that cost less and are a few years younger without the injury problems.

Might sound like sour grapes but its been my position all along !

Onwards and upwards plenty more quality players for us to go after still !

"I am totally committed to Chelsea and always have been"

ABSOLUTE BOLLOCKS.

Why the three week wait then you wanker?

Don't worry mate, just sour grapes from most who are saying they never wanted him. Although, to be fair, some have said this consistantly all along. Don't ask me why. Think it was essential for you to keep him, and from our point of view what you've never had you don't miss. Still, if we get Toure and Lescott we may still give the top four a fright!

exactly, particularly with lescott. lets be honest lescott says to himself, should i stay here at everton where we will finish top 7 every year but never top 4, and play with tony hibbert, tim cahil (who is a decent player) leon osman and steven pienaar, on 40 grand a week. or... do i go to city, the next big thing, play with Robinho, Ireland, Tevez and Adebayor whilst earning 100 grand a week? does anybody really see him staying there :S
