I’ve heard tell of a bloke being drunk at a pub and put on his horse and the horse knowing the way home.

But how true it is, I don’t know, though it wouldn’t surprise me if it it were.

My Nan used to live on a farm and had a horse and cart which she told me would get them home when they fell asleep .

That doesn’t surprise me at all.

My Dad told me that when he was a kid, he was riding the horse, guiding it along the lines of a crop his Dad was growing.

Late in the evening, Grandpa looked up and saw that my Dad was falling asleep, but the horse knew exactly where it had to go, even turning at the end of the row in the right place.
