Joleon Lescott & Micah Richards

Personally, I think Micah shouldn't leave, but not sign a new contract either.

He should work to see if he can get back in the squad on ability and sign or leave on a free if it doesn't work out.
That is not a way to balance our books. If a player gets down to 1 year and won't sign an extension, you've got to sell him if he's willing to go.

it's time they both moved on, for the club's sake and for their own sake's.

i'll miss Micah, he was a bit of a legend cos he seemed like a bit of a chancer who'd ended up on a football pitch. Apparently the life and soul in the dressing room too. See you later lad.

Just seen that interview, because I couldn't quite bear to watch it yesterday. To my eye, Micah looks quite close to tears right the way through it. Look at the way his mate Lescott watches him all the way through.
O.k. I understand, at this level of the game it's not about sentimentality. But I'm just not convinced that he can't come back. Yes, he played poorly this season the few times he appeared. How much match practice has he had? Honestly? Only the very best players in the world, the Sergios of this world, can come back from two months out (let alone one and a half seasons) and just be, bang, at the top of their game.
I think we should persist with him, and get him fit. He was good in 2011-12, and the player I saw wasn't a stupid player at all in terms of footballing intelligence, he was very rarely injured, as I remember it (so it's not written in the stars) and he gave us width and pace with those overlapping runs that led to quite a few goals. Why do people think that Sagna would be better, necessarily?

Micah has one big problem. Like Lescott he is not suited to the defensive part of our game. For our fullbacks postioning has to be key skills when we defend. Micah has tons of pace but positioning is not about physic. A player like Maldini was never really fast especially not towards end of his career but he read the game on high level, knew where he has to be...

Micah runs and runs but doesnt know most of the times why and when. It was clear from only the few matches this year he got. Him being extremely injury prone is just another factor why he has to go.

I mean there is nothing that could guarantee he will be more fit generally, he had poor injury record last season and this season too. Usually 2-3 week long injuries ad then comes back and out again and again...
Dont know what is it, surely not pure bad luck.

Yeah agree he was the last outfield payers from the likes of Ireland, Johnson, Onuoha, Richards etc, and would have been good to keep at least one of them, but harsh reality none of them are good for where we are going, and its proved by none of our former players showing anything remarkable at their new clubs, only exception is Sturridge maybe but he didnt particularly leave because wasnt good enough more to do with his attitude and that joker Hughes.

Txiki wont look at things in a sentimental way, he goes for the quality. So even if have to have a certain number of home grown players for PL and CL and we still sell Micha that will make it clear what Txiki and Pelle really think about Micah.
(Recent reports were about we keep the total deadwood Boyata...)

I posted on another thread months ago that Micha is off to Liverpool.
Was told by a reliable source which I can't reveal.
I'm not trying to claim ITK status I just thought I'd pass it on.

Personally I like him and wish it wasn't so.

I still think he'd be an asset in a covering role, no reason for our 2nd choice RB and, possibly, 4th choice CB to be world class. He's a decent PL standard player and being home-grown (and city trained) would be a plus in the overall squad for overall keeping up the numbers in the squad.

I sometimes think City in the last few years have binned off some players that could have done a job for us in that low priority backup squad players people.

Depends also if he wants to take the pay drop also for going from 1st team to backup player.......

Micah's injuries have fucked him up over the last few years because talent wise he has it all but just can't seem to stay fit these days. Adios Micha will remember your performance in the 6-1 at the swamp when you destroyed Evra down the left flank
