joleon lescott

I've kept a close on on Lescott recently and have come to the conclusion he is a very average defender and not good enough for any team playing in Champs league.

He is regularly out of position (and i mean regularly), his distribution is usually quite weak (in defenders terms), he panics like anything with the ball at his feet and is easy to get past as he tends to stand too square to oncoming players.

He will be sold when cover is bought, probably in the summer.

Thank you for dedicating your 6th post to Joleon after keeping a close on him.

Good enough to get us to our first premiership win and FA Cup triumph and more recently he has continued to show us he is probably our best central defensive player .Comparisons to Nasti and Demichelis have shown that this season. Regularly out of position is a new one so thanks especially for you insight.

yeah nice one. not sure what your condescending comments are for, especially to a new member, but thanks for making me feel welcome to post what's on my mind! or is it 'tow the city line and nothing else' sort of a forum? with you overseeing everyone's posts? Lescott is struggling and is regularly at fault every game. this season is not the same season we won the league, wake up, he was better 2 years ago. nice to meet you though.

I think your harsh on him here I think his/her better comments were panics like anything and easy to get passed were good one's. the fact we conceded 29 goals in our title winning season proves him right all of which must have been Lescotts fault. He may not be the best centre half in the prem but very average defender the mind boggles.

-- Fri Dec 27, 2013 6:56 pm --

Great to have new members mate and you can post basically what you want everyone see's players different but personally I think you're a bit OTT where Lescotts concerned he's been very good for us and apart from a few exceptions has done a job for us when brought in just like yesterday.

thanks for a more adult response, i love discussion about footy but not being talked down to like a child. I might sound harsh to Lescott, and i appreciate his efforts in the past few years, but i genuinely think his quality has gone down to the extent where he is not good enough for a top 4 team. Opinions, opinions, and i think Lescott will continue to divide! cheers for your response

It is one of the things I love about football and this forum. No way did I think I'd come on here today and find that someone had started a thread singling out Lescott for a slagging for his performance last night, let alone that so many people would be in agreement. It is fantastic that we can all watch the same match but see something so different. Obviously the people who thought Lescott was shit last night are know nowt cunts but still it is tremendous that they are able to come on here and voice their opinions. :)

I am just hoping that we will be singing Joleon's song tomorrow!

Pay no mind shemnel. for god knows what reason some people just dont want to see or admit that lescott is a liability. My opinion of him is far more likely to rattle their cage.
The sooner the useless git is shown the f*cking door the better for us, he has the mental speed of a brain damaged sloth on sedatives.

Or maybe some of us noted that our defence was up against one of the world's best players in Squarez and kept him relatively quiet.

In the Summer I think we will buy another World Class defender to play alongside Vinny and Joleon is perfectly good enough to play for us for the time being.
