Not impressed with this one, but looking at one of the baggies forums, they rate him very highly. Although the cheeky buggers think bids should start at £35m+ (although nice to see a set of fans who rate their own players unlike some).

If Pep thinks Evans can do a better job than Mangala, he's lost the plot.

People have such a weird obsession with Mangala on this forum. He's not good enough for our system - if he didn't cost so much no one would care. He has his qualities, but they aren't right for this side.

Evans offers leadership, is very experienced and the ability to comfortably play on the left hand side in our system, something which Mangala can't.

A lot of people not reading this transfer right - we need someone who can step in and lead that back four in Kompany's absence. Stones, Otamendi and Mangala don't hold those qualities - Stones definitely can in the future, but he's still very young. Evans would be excellent for his development and at this stage, that's more important than sentimental value with Mangala.

Mangala was a failed transfer and people need to realise this.

I just had a look at this site and found a completely different set of stats that showed Evans at 82nd one point above Denyar when both at Sunderland. How can one player be worth more than £20M and the other not worth a chance in the team he is employed by.

Think we've had two or three sets of stats mentioned in the last hour that give totally different rankings of the same players. Tells you all you need to know about stats and their usefulness.

WBA play a defensive game where they seldom attack and tend to have 5 defensive players so most players would be ok in that position...how would he cope if everyone is bombing forward leaving him against somebody with pace ....we play football and build up from the back. Evans has the control of a rapist....

Ability to play out of the back and good touch, sounds just like the kind of thing Guardiola and his team would overlook...

Sounds just like the kind of thing Guardiola would overlook...Oh wait, no, it sounds like the first thing he'd consider.

Would you be happy to have a player who got a 6 game ban for spitting...I wouldn't.....wouldn't have any player who considers spitting at somebody as acceptable.

Pep signed a keeper who couldn't save a shot last year...would have thought maybe he would have considered that...hmm

Pep isnt always right..
