Let's put THIS out there. It's near the tail end of the season 2-3 games to go we get an injury to a cb Pep looks to tier 3 of the Colin Bell. Decides I should come one, then I come on score the winner in a tight game, and we end up going on to win the league how would people feel then....

As likely. :-) and I'll do it for free.
Difference is it's not gonna happen for YOU only in your dreams, where as Evans is a professional footballer who could score a winner as he could well be on the pitch, even if there isn't an injury another cb,it's all ifs and ands I was just putting it out there..I couldn't care less if he signs but he's not as bad as some are trying to paint him ..

Hahaha, joking aside mate is it because he played for the rags that has this thread in overdrive,it's a couldn't care less signing but on a serious note he's a hell of a lot better than mangala and tosin ( who could do with being loaned out for experience) so what's the problem if he signs it's not as if he plays week in week out, unless we get injuries to cb's ..
I think its the fee that looks so ridiculous.I mean £18M and refused by WBA !! Fuck me Pulis could buy the fucking club shop for that and still buy half a team.
On a serious note I tend to agree with you, that its probably his ex allegiance to the Rags that have given this thread so much negativity.I`m not taotlally against the idea but I think some fucker is taking the piss with that amount.Depends if he comes and we win something, thats how he`ll be gauged. And Pep.

Jesus man... way to crush my dreams. :-)

Jonny Evans quotes "I am a big Manchester United fan and have been all my life. All my family are huge United fans. My dad hasn’t missed a game for years at Old Trafford. He wouldn’t even miss a United match to come and watch me play at Sunderland. So it has always been a dream to play at Manchester United.
I’ve supported Manchester United all my life and it’s a great honour to be able to wear the badge of this great club.
My first recollections of Manchester United would be going way back, probably in my granny’s house having these little figures of United players. Even before that, I got a United poster for Christmas when I was five years old. My bedroom was all done out in Manchester United stuff: bed covers, posters… so it goes back to when I was just a kid.
It’s hard to put into words exactly what Manchester United means to me. From a young age, I was fanatical about United and I used to cry when the team lost. That’s how much it meant as a kid. Now I feel really privileged to pull on the shirt and go out there and try to make a difference and represent the fans on the pitch."

Jonny fucking Evans!?!?
It has to be a typical city signing. There's still someone in the transfers team thinking "Christ! We've signed too many decent players. We need one the fans will say 'FFS!'. Put in a bid for that rag **** at West Bromwich and I don't mean the Stretford shitter one"

For all the hysterics I haven't seen anyone suggest someone else we can get at this juncture to fill a homegrown spot, who'd accept being fourth choice, has premiere league experience, and can be had for £20mm. He's fine, and he'll be fine. We don't have an unlimited budget and are clearly looking to bring in a forward as well
Had for 20mil lol you make that sound like it's a good thing.

Serious question, can anyone name a defender other than Evans that would improve us (not currently at the club) that would be ok being 3rd or 4th choice CB and would be relatively cheap?

Yeah it's city let's rinse them for another 5-6mill their good for it,bet if Arsenal or say Spurs came in for him it would be around 12-15 mill ..

He's a closet blue.

Why do you think he told Twattenberg to send him off in the sick swan?

:)

That sounds like the worst gameshow name ever.

But I think you have a point.

We bid for Evans is unbelievable.

We bid 18 million is jaw dropping.

WBA said no is astonishing and very good luck.

If we bid more and get him we deserve everything we get.

If you support United you support United. He only feels the same way about them as we all do about City, and for 90% of football fans it's all about how we were raised. I know that's the case for me, despite not being bought up in Manchester, I supported City because my family did, especially my mum. Evans' family are from the other side of the of the divide but that's no reason to expect Pep not to sign him.
