Lescktt wasn't a mine and was evertons best player who scored shit loads for them and Moyes fault all summer to keep ffs.

We also didn't have pep, we had mark Hughes. We also didn't have Mangala.

Lescott did well for us and at £20 Million or so why not?

The system we play now is completely different to the one that Lescott played in, for staters

In addition, Lescott was coming off the back of a couple of really good seasons at Everton and was looking to make the step up to the next level in his career. Non of those things apply to Evans

Get another 2 bottles in for tomorrow when the bid goes up again :)
I feel like City need saving from themselves

I'm not usually one for slagging off Txiki but when was the last time a club he was involved with made a decent signing at CB?? Some right disasters during his time at Barca and here

If he ends up lucky enough to become a blue, then I will be behind him. If he plays for our first team a few times and is solid and does well, Im sure we will end up behind him. If it upsets Tony Pulis, more the better. I dont see this as a sign of failure of the academy which is an ongoing concern in a wider aspect than just who turns out for in the first team squad. If he is better than Tosin, then he is better than Tosin. That is sport. Do I like rags? Absolutely not. Do I support City and those who are lucky to be part of our wonderful culture, and those who work to look after its interests? Yes. If Jonny Evans comes here then he will be blue

They're shite tho no chance they'll play and rightly so

Maybe so. But the message isn't just limited to current centre backs who are reaching maturity. It says to everyone involved, "even if we can't sign a top player in a position, we'd rather spunk megabucks on a journeyman from elsewhere than show any faith in a homegrown kid."

When was the last time an academy graduate played 10 league games in a season. Or even 5? Even 5 off the bench? Boyata?

I get that standards have gone up and they have to be exceptional to get into the team but going out spending a lot of money on a shite benchwarmer doesn't send out a good message.

I need to be objective here and say that he's currently better than Tosin and better-suited to the league than Mangala in my honest opinion, and we already had pretty much the minimum amount of home-grown players we can get away with before we let Clichy go, and Delph looks to be heading out so I think we could do a lot worse.

I would suggest we view this as a late Demichelis replacement.

This has to be a piss take? We need a CB and Evans is what they come up with? If this transfer happens, he will be on loan this time next year and we will once again be in the market for another CB. Absolute fucking genius.
