Txiki has done so much great bussiness for us but he also makes mistakes like everyone.

many reports from reliable guys said it not me city wanted him in January but didn't want to pay the fee Arsenal wanted
Who are these "reliable guys"?

When did I say he was desperate to join us specifically he wanted city no doubt about it but we told him to wait a bit he preferred not to got a better offer and went elsewhere could have been avoided if we moved in January and payed Arsenal the money.

when arsenal asked for 25m in January when Alexis still wanted us. We didn't want to pay it and told him to wait.
Sanchez reportedly wanted the same as a signing on fee and also Wenger was adamant that he wasnt signing for City. We had a fee agreed and he start playing games, saying he wouldn't sign until they had replaced him with Lemar

Utter bollocks, scum were desperate and paid stupid money
Exactly! I badly wanted Sanchez, but the moment he returned to renegotiate our agreement with him because ManUre had offered stupid money, they were welcome to him in my mind.

Every player has a choice, but so does every club. With every passing window, the feelings strengthen that City are no longer seen as Money City, but Manchester City who can give a player a great career, but they need to want to play for us, on our terms. This is why I'm so comfortable with our approach to transfers.

I think the majority of our supporters understand this, but there are always those who feel that the club fuck up on transfers, taking little or no account of the greed of the agents and selling clubs when City move in.

I agree with you mate. We are not a desperate club anymore. Some fans just want....

Personally (unlike other transfer windows) I really couldnt be arsed either way mate but the idea that players shouldnt take the "best" financial offer for them and their families and turn down potentially hundreds of thousands a year in wages because we are Man City is funny....We not desperate but the market dictates what we need to pay to close deals. If the club's new approach is to "not" match or beat other offers for any given player, thats fine with me. It would seem its a very clear, deliberate change in the way we approach the market but whether its right or wrong doesnt really come into it. The powers that be want to run the club that way....The problem is to improve a squad that is already one of the best in europe, in line with the Chairman's interview comments, we would "likely" need to change that approach in some instances. The best players in the world will always have a number of offers on the table, so to think we can improve the starting positions with World class players for less, than other teams are willing to pay in wages and fees, from a fans standpoint, seems alittle out of touch with reality. Again, its a business and I support and respect this club whatever their transfer policy. I just dont buy the romance that a player should take less to come here...

if we had a reputation for being rubbish in the transfer market then maybe some of the criticism being aimed at the club may have some worth. In fact the opposite is true. Our m.o. of identifying, evaluating and negotiating is the mark of a totally professional way to do business that others would do well to copy. As mere fans, we depend on the media for info, a media riddled with agendas, a media with no morals and immune to punishment for being caught lying on a regular basis. When posters claim to know why deals fall through, they are behaving no better than the gutter-press, lying to suit their own agenda, which could be as trivial as the sale or sacking of a manager or player, or as serious as a xenophobic attitude to "foreigners", whatever, the opinions expressed by some say more about the posters than the club.
"Just pay the fuckin money" is a staple of the transfer thread, implying that buying a player is the same as buying a commodity, like a car. The rules on tapping-up, the greed of agents, forex implications, image rights, work permits in some cases , are just some of the potential deal-blockers. The player or his partner might not fancy moving to a cold wet climate, it's a viable reason for someone who is more than likely already a millionaire. In short, when a deal goes tits-up, it wont be because we didnt try or weren't clever enough Feel free to disagree, I know no more than the rest of us....

You are missing the main point & the one which has helped get us 100 points.

We only want players who want us.

So if Jorginho or anyone, doesn't want to hang around, or is tempted by more money, he, like Sanchez, Pogba, anyone, can just fuck off.

Is there any evidence that Jorghino has cooled his interest in the move, or that Chelsea of the 2 managers fame have moved on the scene.

The 2 things to remember is De Laurentis is more against everything than Boris Johnson and has less negotiating speed and subtlety than David Davies, although the transfer may go through before April 2019.

As to Chelsea entering the scene, can anybody point me to a credible source other than the rambling Alfredo Pendulla (the Italian John Cross) who tweets a new italian rumour every 27 minutes. His rambling was that if Chelsea were to come in and outbid us for Jorghino it might make De Laurentis more inclined to release Sarri more cheaply.Pedulla has less credible sources than Jamie Jackson although he does have better written English.

Pedulla's tweet was seized on by every rewrite merchant in Calcutta, Mumbai and Lahore and appeared on every 5th rate news outlet as fact within 24 hours. Chelsea with Marina Granovskaia in charge are looking at a management restructuring which will end with one manager, a new technical director, a strategy for handling the fall out from retreating from the redevelopment of the Bridge and keeping the unable to work in the UK Abrahomovich on board. I do not see now as the best time to get in a pissing contest with City.

There is flapping on here on the scale of United entitlement or Everton anger. The same group of players who enjoyed 2017/8 will still be here in 7 weeks.

Yep, those days of chucking money at clubs are over. We had to do it at one point to get where we are today. It's something united are doing now funnily enough. We have one of, if not the best teams doing our transfers, so I'm happy......just fuckin hurry up! ;)

How do you know what City told him? As I say - it’s all presumption on your part & you use your theories to criticise the clubs negotiations.

Anyway, you’ll never understand what I mean because you think everything you “think” is true
