Watched him against Madrid and fuck me he was running all over the pitch. Reminded me of zaba, just running up and down the pitch and showing no sign of tiredness. I'd definitely take him and as someone said, if we can't get gaya I'd go for jetro and when clichy hits his 30s angelino can then come in.

One of the player's agents, Lorenzo Toldrá, went to the Mestalla to have a talk with Rufete and Amadeo Salvo. The reason for the meeting was Florentino Perez's sudden declaration of love for the man from Alicante.
Peter Lim, meanwhile, wants to show the world in general and la Liga in particular that he has come to stay and plans to make a great team of Valencia.
The club soon went into talks with the player and his agents regarding his contract renewal, which would see the defender having a massive x10 salary rise, becoming one of the three highest-paid players in the squad.

If we went for Gaya couldn't we send Anglino there on loan as his replacement ?

I think that's debatable. He's been good at times but obviously needs to be more consistent to play for a big team like us or United.. he got a massive pay raise and that definitely affects some young players more than others. Long term, Luke Shaw is going to be an absolutely wonderful signing for them though and we'd have been lucky to get him. Either way, we need a young LB signed this summer and back on topic, Gaya would be an excellent candidate. Not sure how good Shaw will be but I definitely don't think you can make a judgement at this point considering how fucked up United's Defense and manager are.

The directors at Mestalla are confident that no hitches will arise and this confidence is based on the players will to remain at Valencia. The club have pushed through the negotiations, well aware that his great season and his buyout clause of 18 million euro have alerted the interest of the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City. Peter Lim, has also indicated that Gayà continuing at the club is a priority for him. The terms of the new deal are in line with the current market but will still maintain outside interest from future suitors.
Valencia will increase his salary, length of contract (now expires in 2018) and his buyout clause, there was some speculation that this was to be increased to an 80 million “anti-Madrid” clause, but club officials yesterday confirmed to AS that this figure was never realistic. They are keen to close the negotiations and avoid later speculation and are looking to establish his buy-out clause at a figure between 40 and 45 million euro. His salary will increase from 250.000 euro to a figure of approximately 1,6 million euro. Apparently Madrid club officials have commented to director, Salvo that they won’t meddle with Gayà’s renewal but they certainly plan to keep a keen eye on the players’ future development.

I don't see any of that current Valencia team leaving.
They are building a really competent team this season and maybe with a few more additions in the summer they may just surprise a few next season.
