Wow!!! Great deal for Barca. What are we - a charity??I reckon we can pay FDJ what Barca owes him, forgive them the Torres deal, and swap Bernardo for FDJ. Everyone wins. FDJ would then accept a big pay cut as his gratitude for paying him what Barca refused to.

I get it's a great deal for them, financially speaking, and not so much for us, but that's the only way make it work, IMO. I guess it's down to how badly do we want FDJ, or who else is out there available for the taking. If we were to lose world-class players at their prime, like Bernardo or Mahrez, we need to buy world-class players, not just potential. We could just not do it. It's not like De Jong is this must-have player. Decent midfielder but not better than what we could find elsewhere.

Absolutely, there is no first XI, it’s a rotating 16 in the main. Gvardiol will play plenty.He isn't coming to sit on the bench. He will be a 1st team regular, albeit in a constantly rotating team.
