I like Laporte but he isn't better than Ake right now. Akanji can play right back and Ruben is a good leader, so by process of elimination if we are to move a defender on it has to be Eric. Personally would like to see him stay though, just can't fathom why we would be going for Gvardiol given our already strong options at centre back.

Aké's decision making is excellent but he simply doesn't have the range of, especially line breaking, passing as Laporte.Reseeved, not limited. Laporte is better, but the gap isn't as large as advertised
Ake is very good defender possibly better than Laporte, but Aymeric offers a lot more with the ball.Ake is a very good defender but hes miles behind laporte with the ball. Makes a big difference

Sounds like there might be legs on the earlier rumors with Laporte being unhappy
I get the feeling he is not been overly happy for awhile and a move would appeal to him.
Absolute hero playing through the injury and pain to get us over the line.
If he leaves will be missed.

He'll be off as soon as the Spanish offer comes his way.
Clearly the moody/sulky type like his mate Cancelo,both can bring in good money and give us the opportunity to bring in players far more committed.
At least Laporte's standards do not appear to have dropped,so fair play for that.
