Re: Jovetic approached by Inter?

Not cut out for the rigors of the English game nor reliable enough for a place in a squad playing 60+ games a season. He's talented but it's all a bit tricks, flicks, piss and wind for me.

He has the knack of always looking rushed, some players look like they have all the time in the world, he plays like he's 1 v 2 in a phone box. Far more suited to Serie A.

If we can recoup the lions share of the fee we paid for him I'd sell him. I can understand those who are opposed to that but he's been here 18 months and his contribution just isn't up to scratch.

He could easily make a fool of me tomorrow afternoon, the lads definitely got something, I just don't think over the long term that he's going to justify his fee or his wages and in the days of FFP and squad restrictions you have to think like that.

Re: Jovetic approached by Inter?

As a player I find him infuriating, if he was playing in the 70s he would have been ideal as a Rodney Marsh type showboating player. The main problem for me is that his body is to open when he receives the ball making it easier for him to be dispossessed, this was demonstrated last Sunday when Sheff Wed scored. The ball played into him players moving forward as we do then he loses it, all out of position which started the counter attack.

Flick and tricks are fine when you are cruising but they are very difficult for your team mates to anticipate. The other thing is that he seems to be always jumping in anticipation of a tackle everytime he loses it, probably due to him being injured the majority of the time. I still think he is a good player and would have been idolized a few years back, but for me he is not top level which is where we are.

Re: Jovetic approached by Inter?

I think those condemning him are being a bit premature.

He's an incredible talent imho, just not one who, due to a variety of circumstances, has really found his feet in the PL yet. If he can stay injury free for a while, get a decent run of games, learn to be a bit more patient and to get back to doing the basics rather than scoring within 3 seconds every time he touches the ball, then we will see.

That's a lot of if's, I know. But I really do think the lad has the potential to become one of the best players in the league if given the chance and a bit of good luck, which so far he hasn't really had.

I don't mean to suggest he's ever going to be as good as Ronaldo, but just to illustrate the point, Ronaldo didn't really set the world alight when he joined United, with his endless stepovers and often giving the ball away. We all know how that turned out though.

He is an incredible talent? Then you go on to say basically if he changes his whole game he has great potential.

He’s turd simple as that. My perception of him hasn’t changed from his first game at Stoke away until now. Very rushed with the ball and tries to shoot with every touch, not a bad thing but is if he can’t hit a barn door. By the end of the season he will have had 2 years with us and offered very little.

I don't know what you think I said that was contradictory???

An incredible talent who's trying a bit too hard and needs to calm down a bit. Is that beyond your grasp?

And I don't think any decent City fan should be referring to any current City players as "turd" either.

Re: Jovetic approached by Inter?

Not convinced by Pellegrini's answer in today's press conference re: Jovetic. I get the impression they might be trying to move him on to bring someone else in this window.

He's too hollywood in his play for me.

Alot of our play breaks down when the ball reaches him, there is no denying his ability but he doesnt fit in our system, he forces his play when he is on the pitch and for the most part it doesnt come off.

Throw in his injury record then i wouldnt mind seeing us get a decent fee for him in the summer.

I agree with this. His talent and technique is unquestionable, but I don't think he suits us at all. We've looked far better this season with one up top. That doesn't suit his game. If we play two up top against the lesser sides, Aguero has to start, so if Jovetic is playing, he drops in to the exact same positions as Silva, Nasri, Yaya, and Lampard, and all 4 of them are better than him.

I feel like he slows our play down too. He always comes short and wants the ball to feet, whereas with the creative players we have in midfield, we need forwards who make runs in behind teams. He constantly passes to the invisible man as well which is infuriating.

Great talent, but I just feel not quite right for our style of play.

Re: Jovetic approached by Inter?

I like him and hope he stays .
Inter milan can't afford him so it's know good them looking at him

Re: Jovetic approached by Inter?

He has had a poor run of injuries and have to say the jury is still out on his ability to step up and be the class player we thought we were getting He needs time and sadly playing catch up on a weekly basis with Chelsea ,doesn't allow anybody to have to many off days I think some on here are harsh calling him turd and shit especially as his celebrations when he does score are genuine and positive
