Jude Bellingham

I don't believe it to be true but it is just about the only plausible answer that fits in with this latest clicks bonanza.

You've just answered it yourself. The last 2 words you've written there explain the whole of why they are reporting it.

Personally, I think he's always preferred the option of City anyway, but the bullshit reported helps the Liverpool fans think that he would have joined them if it wasn't for that pesky oil money stuff.

That’s a very naive position to take.

A ‘clicks bonanza’ is more often than not there to generate clicks - the clue’s in the name!

It’s clear any stories about Bellingham and Liverpool generate lots of clicks, hence all the incessant noise in the media over the last few weeks.

All it needs is one idiot to jump first, then the rest dive in on a ‘sources close to the deal are saying……’ pile on.

If you want the most plausible answer as to why there’s been a burst of clickbait, you need look no further than that!

He’s a Birmingham City fan, like his dad got a box there, why do these cult fans feel that he has some type of undying love for LFC? It’s clear as day that they dropped out of the “chase” because either they couldn’t afford him, due to the massive squad surgery required or the Bellingham camp had indicated they were going elsewhere The media making things up because the stories generate clicks the truth is irrelevant
Most players are happy to ensure their club get a good deal and in this case the bigger the fee the more BCFC gets in their sell on deal something I’m sure Jude will be happy about
I think it's more the fact that you have consistently had the better of things overall over the last few years. Even when we were as good as we will probably ever be, we only won one league. I dont think many could argue if we'd won 2 but I digress. You just always seem to get your way and that infuriates a lot of the fanbase because they think it is being done illegally when in truth you are a supremely well run club (like we largely are) who bent the rules, got away with it, and are now probably toeing the line.

What I'm trying to say is I don't think it is us getting Jude so much as not letting you have him. It's become a pride thing and it doesnt help that that muppet on Anfield Agenda has been promising the masses that it is nailed on for 18 months now.

Personally I'd love him to join Liverpool but I'd take Mac Allister and one of say Mount/Rice etc instead and not lose any sleep whatsoever. Add TAA in the mix in the Stones position and we'd be a lot better off in that area come next season.

A far bigger worry for me is the defence. I don't think Klopp even knows how to fix it which is concerning to say the least.

I think Liverpool bid last transfer window and got a laughed at by Dortmund. Patrick Berger said at the beginning of the season on a Dortmund podcast, that a Premier league club had bid for Bellingham, Dortmund didn't take the offer seriously and laughed it off. He also said that

Dortmund value Bellingham Highly and would take an absurd amount of money to take him from Dortmund. This was at the start of the season.

So them putting a new contract down with a release clause set at 80 mil. Makes no sense. If Dortmund know they can get 130 mil from someone.

Get our way with what?

We've access to £600bn if needed, but couldn't spend £150m of it even if we wanted to, without having to sell first. UEFA/G14 & the Hateful Eight of the Premier League saw to that with FFP.

FFP was originally supposed to be about debt, but when our owner bought the club that was changed to stopping owner investment. Stop the investment. Stop City.

However as you say we're an extremely well run club, but look at the collective debt of all the clubs who tried to strangle City at birth? Funny isn't it? Our debt (WITHOUT OWNER INVESTMENT since 2013/14) is zero, whilst those trying to stop us are bankrupting themselves doing so...

As for Bellingham, your lot have done what they've traditionally done for years. They started briefing the press about Bellingham 2 years ago. Your players have been in his ear on international duty & your fans have been losing their shit in expectation of Bellingham's arrival.

One problem though... Bellingham! Did any of you think to ask the player if he wanted to play for Liverpool? You've all just assumed because you want him to become Stevie G 2.0 so badly, that'd be enough to make it happen. Well it's looking like it isn't which ain't City's fault.

So when you say "We (City) always seem to get our way", again how so? With transfers?

Have a look at our list of "Nailed on" transfers that failed to materialise.

Robin Van Persie
De Rossi
Hazard
Sanchez
Sanchez again
Messi
Isco
Pogba
Fred
Maguire
Sanchez AGAIN!
Laporté
Koulibaly
Messi again
Frenkie De Jong
Kane
Cucurella

That's just off the top of my head. In all cases we set our budget limits & were outbid. No problem, we just move onto our next target on the list.

Instead of Fred, we got Rodri

Instead of Maguire, we got Laporté

And so on... So again, how do City always seem to get their way, especially if you look past Grealish for £100m & realise the next highest fee we've ever paid was £72m for Dias & that's including add ons?

Whether Dortmund sell Bellingham this summer might depend how important he is to their team and whether they see his value rising much if he stays with them?

Currently Dortmund seem on the cusp of a historic league win, he is their 19 year old captain, they might want to keep him longer?

You would imagine there's likely to be more rich PL owners splashing cash on rising stars going forward? Dortmund will want to maximise their return from his sale but also keep success on the field to challenge for trophies.

Exactly, the story has been dreamt up to serve a particular narrative…. It’s not fact based it’s pure fantasy / desperation.

Yeah no it's fantasy, from watching Dortmund for years, from the Dembele to the Sancho saga, Dortmund are incredibly well run. They don't do release clauses in new contracts, Haaland only had one as his agent pushed for it, even then they didn't want to put one in as they knew how much he'd be worth.

Dortmund have a price you pay the price, no negotiation. You piss them off they keep the player or up the price. They don't do new contracts with release clauses that's fantasy.
