Couldn’t it just mean he’s agreed to terms with Madrid (as well as us), or they’ve matched our terms?

That, being “very careful” doesn’t 100% mean he will join them.
Yeah i agree, yet they are telling the world, whereas we just kept quiet.

The first sentence in Romano's latest tweet is key though, this is the second time we've heard that they may not be willing to meet Dortmund's valuation in full.
This is in our favour i think.

I’m in and out of this thread.

I’ve not posted anything from Marca as it’s akin to RAWK.

I decided to have a look because of tomorrow’s match.

Marca are convinced it’s a done deal, just like they were with Haaland.

This is part of the latest Bellingham article.

The link is below if you want to read the rest of the article and have a laugh.

Real Madrid in recent years have followed a sporting strategy whereby most of the signings who arrive give up the chance of higher wages and a confirmed starting position elsewhere.

Instead, they arrive at a club surrounded by a history that grows season after season and, above all, at a club with a stability that very few can boast.

This is the path chosen by Jude Bellingham, as Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni or Endrick did before, players who opted for a sporting proposal, leaving behind the frenzy of money that can be found in the Premier League or at PSG.

Bellingham, moreover, had the possibility of becoming the Premier League's flagship player. However, the Englishman has opted for the proposal of Real Madrid.

Manchester City offered leadership, to become a reference point, with a salary well above what Real Madrid can pay him, which for the moment does not place him in the top range of the salary scale.

The English club were offering him 15 million euros for each of the six seasons they were proposing to him.

So, Bellingham has given up on more money, and Real Madrid are going to get Bellingham on the cheap from Dortmund. Let’s close the thread. ;-)
a shame we cant attract superstars! hopefully txiki can throw money bags at maddison and mount now

Madrid’s new transfer plans. Get players on the cheap, pay them less money, and use the club history to seal the deal.

In reality Real Madrid have to adhere to La Liga’s spending cap.

Even still…..

In the summer transfer period for the 2022/2023 season of La Liga, Real Madrid was allowed to spend up to 683.5 million euros on salaries, setting the highest spending limit among the 20 soccer teams in the Spanish top-tier soccer league in that season.

Squad spending limits LaLiga 2021/22

This squad spending limit denotes the maximum amount that each club/SAD can spend during the course of the 2021/22 season following the summer transfer market, including spending on the first team in relation to players, the manager, assistant manager and fitness coach (registrable squad, as defined in Art. 38 of the Budget Preparation Rules) and spending on the reserves, the youth system and other areas (non-registrable squad, as defined in Art. 38 of the Budget Preparation Rules).

29 minutes into this, Rodrigo Faez discusses Bellingham.

He's the first journo to really talk about City's end of the Bellingham story completely. He says "We spoke to our Man City sources over the weekend and they were shocked how Spanish media were reporting on Bellingham. They were like 'we are leading this race still'"

And then, of course, mentions what Ornstein & Stone got briefed yesterday. I'm wondering if we've perhaps told our English journos that we're still confident but not to report on it?

His City sources seemed VERY confident.
