True, but they don't want to sell him though and have offered him a much better contract than the one he's currently on which he's expected to turn down. I just think that Dortmund really suits him and is a great environment for him currently to continue to improve and grow as a player. I could understand him leaving for Liverpool as he will start every single week.

He isn't improving because he is at Dortmund. They aren't what they once were.

He starts every week for us as well, he would make up 2/3 of our midfield and would quickly be alongside Rodri as the first name on the team sheet.

Hi running that team, it's been a superb move for him.

Now it's time to push himself to the very top level.

"Start every week" is a bit of a red herring. At City he'd have more games in more competitions with a bigger variety of challenges against a better quality of opponent. He'd likely get just as many minutes as he is getting now, and if he thinks he's good enough, as I'm sure most think he is, why not challenge yourself at one of/the best squads in the world. Can't be a big fish in a small pond for your whole career, and every season not challenging for medals is a season missed when you've got the world at your feet like he has.
 
Huge talent - but huge price. If he absolutely wants to play for us - to the point of refusing better offers - then he's worth pursuing - otherwise, there's other young, gifted players out there for a competent scouting team to find.
 
he is brilliant and at his best in the final third. he is not good enough to control the center of the pitch playing deeper. so it will be stupid if we buy him and play him deeper. at the same time if we play him higher we need some adjustments to how we move the ball to the final third and how we attack. so transitioning with bellingham who is a different type of midfielder than what we currently have might take time. but we still should buy him if that is the only chance we have to improve the midfield for the future. I will love to get him but I do worry about the unfair price. will also add enormous pressure on him to justify the price like with grealish.

Unfair price? What's that when it's at home? If it was too high or more than we thought he was worth then we'd simply walk away. Not that anyone actually knows what he'd cost.

they are asking 150 mil, that is a ridiculous price. I expect someone who can completely dominate a game and already world class at that price, not for potential. how do you know we will always walk away. we paid 100 mild for grealish who everyone knew was not worth that much.
 
I think we need to stop thinking about Bellingham, the pair of nobheads on sky sports with city mike have said there is only one club that would suit him and that's the tramps.

They said the only club for haaland was Real Madrid, pair of know nothing pricks.

iirc his contract with Dortmund completes at the end of the 24/25 season, so 2 and a half seasons left. There have been reports suggesting that he’s refusing to extend with Dortmund, which would be logical if he wants to leave them anytime soon.

Thus, after this season the likelihood is that Bellingham will have only 2 seasons left with Dortmund. At the end of the following (23/24) season he’ll have only 1 season left with them and his market value will start to plummet.

IMO because of the above, Dortmund aren’t particularly well placed to demand stupid money, they can sell this summer for the best they can get, sell for much less the summer after or watch him walk on a free the summer after - they negotiate with the sword of Damocles above them, if they hold firm for stupid and ultimately loose their suitors then they’ve lost a bundle.

I’m not sure where all these quotes of €150M are coming from but I suspect it’s from someone who’s been hyperventilating.
My view is that he’d go for much less than that and that it‘s also in his interests to do so because buying clubs have a valuation that needs to cover both buying cost and salary thereafter. The higher the payment to Dortmund the less that will be left in the value pot for his salary.
I think his wage demands / agents fees / dad’s bung etc. will mean that nobody will pay above say €100m this summer and Dortmund aren’t in a position to resist that because they know that they’ll get less the summer after . . and then nowt the summer after that.

Also, in all fairness, as incredibly good as he is for his age, the extreme valuations are based on his potential to continue on his current steep trajectory to then become ‘world class’ in due course . .
As shocking as it will sound to those already worshipping at his alter but it could happen that he stays at Dortmund and doesn’t improve at all, the rough edges that some expect will be polished smooth may just get a bit sharper.
Look at Sane for instance, he was next level for his age, absolutely oozed talent and you’d have expected him to be the acknowledged best winger in the world by now but he didn’t kick on, his trajectory plateaued, it happens more often than not.

hope you are right. anything over 100 mil is a pisstake, it already is in this inflated market. hope we walk away if there is a bidding war over 100 mil. no way he can justify that price. I do not see him having the versatile talent of the very best midfielders in the world like say modric who gets better over time.

I don't think the english media put the price. it was mostly the german media saying dortmund hope to get close to 150 mil for him. saw something like that few weeks back.
