Jude Bellingham

I can only comment on the games I have seen bellend in. The two games against us and the England games.
I have seen nothing to suggest he is above average player.
He disappeared against us.
He disappeares in England.
He might be good in the farmers league he plays in.

I have seen all the hype around but have seen nothing to back this up
Do you really think though that he's Just an above average player. I mean he is 2nd Favourite for the Balon d'or and has had an excellent season for Madrid. I do get all the other Ego shit with him which will obviously rile folk up.

But what games have YOU personally seen him show he’s above average this calendar year?

He's not that level.

When I think of the top midfielders, I think of Rodri, Modric, David Silva, Xavi, Gundo, Kroos etc. All ends up with shit loads of touches per match, are constantly involved and play a huge part in how the whole team operates.

Bellingham doesn't do that at all. He doesn't come up with huge moments though, which can win matches and do get him a lot of media attention, especially playing for Madrid.

But he doesn't really play as a midfielder I suppose. He's more of a second forward, arriving from deep. He's got good numbers goal wise doing that, but a mediocre Messi or ronaldo season in a top league and nobody would consider him for Balon Dor. If Haaland could have repeated the previous seasons effort he'd be a cert this year.

He had a good half a season and dropped off.

Being up for Ballon d'or is more to do with PR than anything. He has a massive PR machine behind him.

Do you think Foden would be one of the favourites for Ballon d'or if City won the champions league? He got more goals and assists than Bellingham got last season if people care about stats, yet I feel he wouldn't be close to getting a ballon d'or no matter what we won, he just hasn't got that media backing.

I don't think Bellingham is anything special. He has a decent eye for goal. He doesn't really run games, not a particular great passer or possessing great vision, not particularly skillful in the sense he's gonna take a ball in a tight space and still be a danger to defences.

I think he's just a decent athlete that gets around the pitch well and chips in with goals because he has decent timing. Essentially a slightly better version of Scott McTominay and playing in a side where most games are uncompetitive.

Give it a few years and I truly believe Bellingham won't be held in the same regard as he is now. I don't think the ability matches the hype and it'll die down and people will see a good player, not great player.

Fair enough I take all your views on board. Yes I do think Foden would of walked the Ballon D'or too had we won the CL. Granted the second half of the season was nowhere near the first half in numbers he was producing for Madrid. I'm still going to sway towards to he's a good or very good player than an average one. I guess we can revisit this in a year's time and see where he's at.

Well he's above average for sure, but I don't think he's got the ability to be an elite player. That's why I think the hype will die and when the smoke clears, people will see a good player, not great player.

Put it this way, he's closer to Scott McTominay than he is De Bruyne, going on ability, even potential ability. I don't say that as a joke. If we use the scale of McTominay being a bang average decent enough player with an eye for goal and KDB being an elite footballer, then I believe Bellingham is closer to the former than the latter.

I think time will prove this.

I can only comment on what I have seen. As for saying he is 2nd favourite for the Balon d'or, so what ! It's a media lead thing that Messi won last year when playing in America. I'm guessing Rodri is the favourite to win this.
The Spanish league isn't strong so easy to shine in that league.
