A few things to note from that U Tube compilation:

1) There are a genuinely impressive range of finishes in there. Deft touches, steals and poachers goals, lobs, rockets with both feet, a header.......but encouragingly no crazy Hollywood stuff either.
2) He is so 2 footed....I changed my mind twice on whether he is a lefty or a righty. I've NEVER seen that before.
3) Very good awareness.

This could get interesting...........

In overall I would say, that Ferran Torres is a better player in terms of skills and etc. Also, let's consider the fact that both are 21 now and Ferran has already played for Valencia, City and established himself as a regular starter in the national team. Plus, Ferran played all three positions in the attack - LW, RW and CF.

This Julian guy is only the center forward, has good finishing skills with the both legs and looks like a guy who works a lot on the pitch, that's great trait as well.

In a short-term I would say that Ferran is better and that's why Barcelona payed so much money for him, but in a long-term Julian can become a better center-forward, than Torress would ever become..

So I think it's worth a try and the sum club is paying isn't that much - not to take the risk.

P.S But no talent in the world is as good as Palmer for me, so I think that main objective should be to - improve Palmer as much as possible and give him more gaming time..

Alvares only started playing CF last year, before he mostly winger and occasional midfielder.

If you go by the reports, they suggest we will sign him now, loan him back till January next year. On the assumption they go far in the cup. If they don't he comes in earlier. There is a claimed clause that we can bring him in over the summer for an additional 1.5m.

All seems very convenient and favourable for RP, they essentially get to cash in on a player in the last year of his contract, and keep him, plus supposedly also get a discount on cfg replacements to help. While I am in no way doubting the club would happily agree to it for whatever reason, all the information has come from Argentinian sources so far, it might just be lacking that little bit of balance. I personally am happy to wait till it is official. Till then I reserve a little niggle of hope that maybe there is a similar extra payment in the mix that brings him in now, if he can be convinced. Afterall, it has been days since the claims it is all done and agreed and nothing has been formally announced.

That said, while I would obviously want him in sooner as I feel we are light this year, and I think it would be better for him too, I do fully acknowledge sense in this deal if that's what he and RP want and if we are happy to go with it it must suit us just fine as well.

Good fee. I’m slightly concerned about his suitability for the league. He’s not very tall and he looks pretty lightweight. At first glances, he also doesn’t appear to have that burst of acceleration that will allow him to go past defenders (though I could be wrong about that). He seems pretty well rounded, and his finishing looks decent enough. He looks like a Sanchez or Tevez type player to me. However, those two were very physically strong.
Look at Aguero when he first signed for us.
He didn’t look strong either and people thought he wasn’t tall enough.
He certainly bulked up over time and proved you don’t need to be tall to be the best striker in the league…..

Yeah looks a bit lightweight to me and at 5 7” not convinced he would be suitable for the premier league. But the powers at club know what they’re doing so hopefully I am wrong
