Julian Assange

it can have whatever I want it to have.

No because it is my question and my hypothetical. Also the events happened before covid-19 existed, so it's not just me weaseling.

You can't turn around and say that wouldn't happen because I'm always chauffeur driven when you drive a clapped out fiesta.

Just find the tone peculiarly severe. Easy to armchair quarterback as we all do.

Release this guy for the freedom of the press. Or not. Or extradite him to a greedy and evil superpower to cover up their and probably our crimes against humanity. And not 1 major newspaper will report it like that. Tells you all you need to know £££

Sex offender hiding behind a cloak of defender of press freedom. Hopefully he'll be getting a few decades in a US prison.

It’s called Karma.

Would you run away as well if you killed someone whilst driving on the wrong side of the road?

Because of that she turned a death from a traffic collision into something much worse. If she had got a few months or a community sentence then almost nobody would be going on about it now.
That’s a big “IF,” and sounds like you’re OK with a “manufactured” penalty.

Is THAT justice or just spite?

She had immunity and was protected. The end.

Lastly, you act like diplomatic immunity is some kind of flexible shield, which can be bent to the will of the manufactured outrage of the British public. It isn’t.

What’s funny is 99% of diplomatic incidents that result in recall are probably never publicly known, but because of that there’s no tabloid-generated outrage. One wonders what misdeeds protected British citizens have committed overseas about which we will never know.

As for someone bringing up parking tickets? Don’t make me laugh!

Because she has Diplomatic Immunity. Something that is recognised around the world and helps keep our own Diplomats, spies and families safe.
We can all play the I am more outraged than you part but it doesn't get us anywhere.
Shame it doesn’t keep kids safe or cures grieving families, we can easily refuse deportation on legal grounds. It a political move because we like to bend over to the yanks and probably have a dim view of people trying to expose govt immorality.

If there is no public news how would you know it’s probably 99%?

She killed someone I don’t care if she is a yank or not, the country you reside in would rather not let her face justice which wouldn’t be huge anyhow, If you are happy with that that says far more about you than anything else.

Maybe shoot your gun into the air and shout yeehaw

And there it is….

ignorance poorly disguised as arrogance!

It wasn’t just parking tickets it was also the congestion charge, which your government can more than afford as the price of doing business. Just like British citizens working as tradesman or cabbies don't get a choice.

If you come back with a link of UK diplomats avoiding equivalent charges, I wouldn't argue that they shouldn't be paid.

She drove on the wrong side of the road and killed someone, it is nothing to do with her job. It's not a manufactured charge she should show some accountability.

And what I actually said was it would be deserved end, I didn't even wish it so, because I know I don't possess magical powers. And no I don't want someone to deliberately infect her with a cancer causing virus etc.

Your country is the world's biggest bully, you're proud of it. Own it. You know as well as I do that diplomatic immunity can be waived.

I've said before I wouldn't be saddened if the USA split up, maybe I'll go further and remove the caveat of my desire for minimal violence and suffering during any such civil war.

You have a greater proportion of gun wielding arseholes than anywhere else. Enjoy.
